1. I thought Tyler Bray played well considering he should still be in high school right now. Showed poise, confidence, and a big arm. Simms was a big disappointment.

2. Our DL is going to be solid. We will be deep at DE and just need some backups at DT. Corey Miller looked good for a Freshman.

3. Don't read too much into the OL issues. Splitting the squad up didn't help the line. This is our weakest spot on the team though.

4. Our LB's will be solid. Due to all the injuries last year, we have lots of depth.

5. I was impressed with the play of the secondary. Gordon and Oliver look to be serious contenders for starting CB positions.

6. T. Poole will make us forget about B. Brown.

7. I like J. Jackson being worked on the return teams. We need our best players to touch the ball.

8. M. Milton looks as though he will help us this year. Big target. Had some drops though.

1. Agreed. Bray won today. And probably won the Spring. Will most likely win the fall and the starting job. Needs to hit the weights though, and work out his timing issues.

2. Our D-Line is going to be mean. Chuck will work those boys. Corey, Jacques, John Brown (when he gets here) Montori, Marlon, and whoever else is thrown in there is going to be destructive. They just have a mean streak.

3. It is our weakest spot. However, it's going to get better. James Stone, Pair and Fulton are coming in to help, and they are all monstrous. We just need to put together the right 5 guys. It'll be okay.

4. LB is going to be a strength this year. Lathers, Thompson, Askew, King, Frazier, Reveiz, Reveiz, and don't forget Austin Johnson...he is going to make an impact this year. Moving him to LB might be the best thing that happens in his career. LB will be a lot better this year. I'm not worried at all.

5. Gordon is going to be an impact player this year. It's odd seeing a secondary without Eric Berry though. Gonna miss that guy.

6. Who is this Bryce Brown guy you speak of? No, I agree with you after that, but I REALLY hope that Raijon Neal is something special, because Oku is turning out to be nothing more than a kickoff returner. If Poole gets hurt, we're in trouble unless Neal is great. Toney still isn't back to where he should be.

7. Janzen can do good things as a return man. I just hope he doesn't get hurt. I was actually surprised that Meline wasn't returning kicks and or punts. I thought surely he would fit into that role.

8. Milton will be a great receiver. You can already tell that he and Bray have a good connection right now. He's going to be just fine. My hope is that he doesn't get overshadowed by Hunter and Rogers when they come in...but then again...i guess that's a good thing. We have a solid receiving corp. Lots of targets. Gonna be hard to match up for defenses.

Gordon just draped GJones on some occasions; none of Jones big catches came against him. I think he'll be a good one. Myles showed he has some good ball skills. Don't know yet about Askew, he might get lost in the shuffle with all the experience ahead of him. For all the talk about having the tight ends involved, I don't think I heard Stocker's name called once. They REALLY need to figure out a way to get Milton the ball, he is big and looks seriously strong

I also loved M Hughes pumping up his teammates and celebrating with the offense on their scores. He is quickly becoming a favorite

My thoughts:

The teams were a bit unbalanced. Orange didn't have a lot to work with. The OL of the Orange was terrible. Simms didn't help matters, but he clearly didn't have much to work with out there outside of Jones (who looked great). Oku wasn't very impressive, Toney Williams was less than impressive.

For the White, Tauren Poole was incredible, i don't know what his measurables are, but he looked like a wrecking ball out there. Bray did a lot of things well, also made a few mistakes on routine short passes, he showed a lot of poise in the pocket though. The White Defense was very, very good. D. Moore showed flashes as usual, and Milton looks like he could be a good target (did drop a key ball though). OL was shaky for the White as well, but def. better than that of the Orange.

I didn't see the game, but I did see the final score. Is our offense that bad or is our (Wilcox) defense that good?

Best players weren't on the same team, quarters were short, couple of dropped long balls, and Simms.

You're the second person who's said this, and I just don't see where you're getting it. Oku average 4 YPC (to Poole's 4.5) running behind a much worse O-line and against a much better D-line (Walker, Walls, and Hughes were all in white). Oku looks stronger and faster than last year. Also, he's a true sophomore. I think he'll be a solid #2 back this year, and when Poole is ready to make the leap to the NFL, Oku will be ready to take over.

I agree about the rest of your comments. Where is last spring's Williams?

T Poole should have been the no. 2 rb last year. I think this kid was mistreated last season and I hope he has a monster of a year. You know we are lucky he's still here.

Oku will be OK in my opinion as well...Quick and tougher running especially early in the game although Poole seems GREAT (now has HARDESTY like arms)!!

Big impact players to me were Chris Walker, Montori Hughes, Marlon Walls, and Gerald Williams (dominant like Walker)... Austin Johnson (will never be run over), Janzen Jackson, Eric Gordon, Stephaun Raines (kept testing him and broke up most pass attempts).... Bray has potential, Gerald J looked great on 1 series which was enough to know

I liked the defense. They really put the pressure on the offense to make a play. They give you nothing in the middle of the field and provide real tight coverage on the outside. They also bunch the middle to make the run game go east and west. And it seemed that they made some really good use of individual talent.

Austin Johnson is another Nick Reveiz at LB. He was always at the right place at the right time. I do not recall seeing any busts in coverage all day and any QB we play had better be pinpoint accurate with the ball.

Hopefully, when he starts throwing with the guys during the summer, he can get that timing down.

This is about what I saw. The biggest pleasant surprises were Walls, Williams, Johnson, and Raines. We knew those other guys were going to be good. We knew Williams would be good, but he was the defensive MVP today; I didn't see that coming. Raines was one of the better players in the secondary, and Walls was probably the most pleasant surprise, as he was one of the bigger question marks.

I had a major injury when I played and the easy part for me was the physical rehab, not the mental part. It takes a long time for a athlete not to be paranoid about the body part that was injured. I'm sure everytime his knee gets hit really good, he thinks o God please don't be hurt again and doesn't go all out after that like he normally would pre-injury. Once he gets over that, I think he will be fine.

As soon as the staff starts moving all the first team reps his way, he'll move up the learning curve even quicker. Not to mention, he's still got 4 1/2 months to put on a few more pounds.

2. Our DL is going to be solid. We will be deep at DE and just need some backups at DT. Corey Miller looked good for a Freshman.

Assuming he gets in, John Brown will be a really good addition to our DT depth behind Walls and Hughes.

Agreed. Based on what I've seen, I think we'll be alright with Jackson, Myles, Gordon, and Oliver/Evans.

8. M. Milton looks as though he will help us this year. Big target. Had some drops though.

Believe it or not, Kesling actually got something right today. He noted that being an early enrollee helped Milton as much as anyone. If he came in fall, he could've gotten lost among all the receivers, and it would've been even tougher to stand out with D Rogers and J Hunter there, too. Since he came in spring, he got a lot more attention (and based on today, it seems like Bray already knows to look for him, too).

I dont like our offense in general we dont go over the middle enough we need a better offense and we will be ok
