Thoughts on the new Lebron commercial?

Egocentric. But it's Nike advertising at its best.

LeBron still made a colossal error with "The Decision" and should have gone anywhere but Miami. His prospects for a title were better in Chicago IMO.

Joel Anthony at the 5 and Carlos Arroyo at the 1 scream NBA titles.

Exactly. The Heat aren't anywhere close to good enough at 1 or 5 to make it out of the east. And they won't be as long as their big 3 eat up that much salary.

Did anyone else catch the "Hi Chuck" shortly following the Barkley spoof?

Don't like what he did to Cleveland, but this is a very good commercial

The NWO in Miami is good for the NBA. It pushed Kevin Durants popularity to new heights, provoked Melo(He'll be a Knick) and possibly CP3 to the Knicks(after 2012), gave Boston more reasons to stay atop their game, irritated Kobe and the Lakers, pushed the Bull's to add new pieces, etc. It was a great summer for the NBA. It's largest markets now lay claim to it's best teams.

No. Those three have to ride the bench at some point during the playoffs, and they are going to suffer when that happens. There are a number of teams in the NBA that can dominate them in the post.

You need a TEAM to win a title. They don't have a team, they have two superstars, one of the most overrated forwards in the game and ragtag group of D-leaguers.

they've done better than d-leaguers, but losing Miller hurt and the defensive end is just going to be a nightmare. Riley tends to get some D out of his guys, but looks tough to me.

Completely off topic, but I can't stop looking at my own avatar. :air_kiss:

But anyway, I expect this to be a huge year for the NBA. My initial reaction was disappointment, but now I'm kind of glad LeBron chose Miami. The ripple effect has been amazing.

And Portland needs a House of Hoops.

Milo, the Heat will win a title within the next two seasons. It's almost impossible for them not to... Though I'm much more excited about the Stat, Melo, CP3, combination.

If they don't add some paint presence and some serious ability to shoot the basketball, they will struggle offensively as bad as they are going to defensively.

Unless they add the pieces BPV mentioned, there are at least four teams in the NBA right now who could beat the Heat in a playoff series and do it in less than seven.

We've got these little things called Niketown and the Nike World Headquarters... No big deal.

Haven't been yet. Do they get exclusives HoH gets? For example, the All Star LeBrons/Kobes/Durants?

Speaking of, I need to apply for the Nike internship.

I don't know. I think tonight will be sort of telling, but I don't see many teams stopping this heat squad. Hell, LeBron was successful at Cleveland for the most part, I don't see this Heat squad NOT making it to the finals sometime soon. Real soon.

They have no point guard, no center and no depth.

Most games, late in the 3rd quarter, when game-sealing stretches are made, most or all of the bench is out on the floor. This is Miami's 2nd string:

Carlos Arroyo
Eddie House
James Jones
Udonis Haslem
Zydrunas Ilgauskas

The benches of nearly the entire top half of the NBA would destroy this group. That kind of depth is beyond awful.

Dude, don't bring logic to this discussion...You'll confuse some folks....Denial is a terrible thing for some people and sometimes they need a big hefty dose of reality to bring them back to earth....they won't win every game but after they jell they are going to be almost impossible to deal with...Not saying everybody needs to like it but Us Heat fans are damn sure gonna love it!

LeBron was successful in reg season ball against a very weak Eastern Conference. Playoff ball is a different animal in which slashing, highlight reel garbage is harder to come by. Playoff teams will be able to make Miami shoot the rock and that's going to be a problem. The other problem for me is defending a decent PG or post presence.

Yep. Boston, Orlando, Chicago and possibly even Atlanta all match up well against the Heat.

LeBron and DWade tended to handle the ball the majority of the time for their teams anyway. A good to great PG isn't a necessity anyway. Tons of teams have won titles without one.

Center? LeBron has never had one of those either. The Bulls won 6 rings without a dominate center. Not that I'm comparing the Heat to the Bulls, I'm merely pointing out instances in which teams have won without one. The Pistons won a the chip with Ben Wallace.

What bench did LeBron have in Cleveland?
