I'm reasonably confident we can have sucess running the ball, if we can it will probably get ugly.
HB will play but I don't expect him to light it up, best case scenerio would be we keep it simple and that he hands it off a lot and can make some throws to keep them honest.
We are going to have to take a lot of chances on defense we can't just sit back and not put and pressure on the quarterback. Unless we some how can get pressure with four we will be blitzing a lot and playing man on the recievers. The real key is to stop the Florida run game, then the linebacker can sit back a little and cover the quick over the middle and quick outs more.
The wild card is the large number of quarantined players who may not play or if they do it will be without practice for two weeks.
Having said that, WGWTFA.

Conditions will probably be sloppy. It is poring rain right now. They are calling for the rain to be over by game time but it will start at 43 degrees and drop during the game. Cold a wet. I don't know how the lizards will do in the cold.

A sloppy track would be an advantage. Hopefully the cold-blooded fatherless children will never be able to warm up.

Hope HB has a day. About time we flipped it and one of our new QBs starts his first game and lights up the gators for a change
That would be nice. It would be near a Christmas miracle if HB came out and lit them up. A true freshman particular under this season circumstances is probably going to struggle, hopefully he can kept it together.

Florida is steamrolling people with a defense that allows an average of 150 yards of rushing against them per game.

Our rushing offense is only managing to average 143 yards of rushing per game.

The math is not in our favor.

Football is a game of matchups and timing. The thing that I like about this matchup is that stopping the run is Florida's weakness and lately we have been pushing people around.

And yet they are still winning, regardless of a less-than-stellar rush defense, by putting up an average of 43 PPG on offense, while we have averaged 20 PPG; bottom line, Florida scores points, we don't.

Tennessee still has not figured out how to stop the slant. Fla will name the score. If I am wrong then I am but until then. Fire Pruitt

It isn't a matter of stopping the slant but the slant is open because the lb's have to come up to stop the run and rush the qb. That makes play action and quick routes over the middle impossible to defend.

Anything less then 230 yards and 2 tds is a disappointment IMO for Bailey...
JG hit 250 and 2 vs UGA
BM 250 and 2 vs UGA...

For the next great UT QB. That should be easy

We dont have enough speed/instincts at LB to play in space. We dont have enough talent at along the DL. Our corners are better equipped to play the boundary than in space...We got some good players on the defensive side of the ball but not the proper mix for how games are played in 2020....

Without getting pressure from the down linemen no defense is going to stop Florida.
Alabama included.
My hope is that the the team is fired up and willing to hang tough for all 4 quarters.
I think will we see better effort everywhere with HB starting.
But we still end with a loss.

So what you are saying is that after all these games that Pruitt still has not figured out how to stop the slant but you figured it out in a post? You are hired

The keys are getting pressure hopefully with four and stuffing the run. Also it would be nice if we can hold on to the ball and not leave the d on the field the whole game

They're going to shrivel up I hope!

Figuring it out and fixing it are different matters. It is not like he's gonna go to Walmart and pick up a couple dominant edge rushers and couple space-eater DTs. You recruit them and have them lift weights for a couple of years.

History says that it can certainly happen. I think HB is going to do just fine. He's 6'5 230 lbs and has a playing style very similar to Ben Roethlisberger I feel, he's going to make some wow plays tomorrow vs the lizards.

In theory, a wet track won't hurt us. My opinion...Only way(s) to keep this game close...
be able to run the ball to shorten the game (not have a track meet) and successfully execute play action.
be able to cover the slant
don't allow unforced error "gash" plays...example...busted coverage on WR, leaving them wide open.
