I think if JC doesn't get things rolling against Ohio CLK may make the move. It wouldn't surprise me if he brings NS in earlier in the game to get some time with the 1st team IF we are up comfortably--just to see how well he does. It's without-a-doubt a HUGE game not only for Tennessee, but for JC as well. If he doesn't play well against Ohio, I think he is benched with the meat of our SEC schedule coming up.

We MUST win the games we are supposed to(Ohio, Memphis, Vandy, Kentucky). I don't know about Bama and Ole Miss since both games are on the road--we MIGHT pull an upset in one of those 2. If not though, then that leaves us having to win 1 out of 3 tough SEC contests(Auburn, Georgia, S. Carolina) to become bowl eligible and 2 of those 3 to finish above .500. All 3 games are at home, so I think we definitely have a shot at all 3 of those. Auburn has yet to face a defense, Georgia has no defense, and South Carolina is too inconsistent.

I'd LOVE to win ALL these games, but its a little unrealistic. With the exception of 2 TOUGH road contests, we definitely have a shot at running the table and finishing 8-4 at best IMO. 9 wins is possible, but I think that 7-8 is more likely. I feel as though that would be a HUGE success for CLK and this team in their first year together--especially with the devastation of last year.

Finishing the season strong will definitely put us ahead of schedule in turning things around and with all these recruits coming in, I think we are in the SEC championship chatter next season if Tyler Bray is as good as advertised. I don't think NS can beat him out if he's anywhere near as good as I think he can be. There's a storm brewin' in Knoxville and the rest of the nation was served notice yesterday. We won't back down and this coaching staff is the real deal. Doubters can doubt, but the proof is in the pudding.

Thoughts?

If Bray is half as good as he is advertised to be he will give Stevens all the push he wants and eventually take the spot. Ohio, Vandy, and Kentucky we should win. Ill go out on a limb and say if Georgia cant get the D together we should win that too. The Bama game like the UF game should be a down right brawl with a side of war it will be fun to watch.

GO VOLS!

I agree that Auburn, Georgia, and South Carolina are the key games on our schedule that we need to win, but don't forget about Kentucky. They are better than everyone thinks. The problem that we have is our QB situation and the fact that it makes us one dimensional. All it takes is for someone to shut down our running game and we struggle.

Definitely not forgetting about Kentucky. They are a much improved team this year and the game is in Lexington. But that is still a game that we SHOULD win until they beat us.

Ok...how is that crazy? Kentucky is a game that we should win until they prove that they can beat us. Which hasn't happened in their last 24 attempts. Anyway, I was breaking down our schedule into our toughest games, must wins, and teams we should beat. What's your point?

It's just understatement at its finest, that's all. Sort of like saying, "whoever scores the most points will win the game."

Next 3 wks critical.

Ohio - should be a comfortable win, looking to see how the team responds after the UF week.

Auburn - looks better than expected, tough game. Gonna need better QB play to win.

UGA - hard to tell how good they are. Arky pitched it up and down the field on them. And UGA returned the favor. Offense is lookin better, D is kinda a ? right now. Winnable game for us.

3-0 sets us up for a good finish, 2-1 is what is expected for a 7 or 8 win team. 1-2, gonna struggle to make the Music City bowl.

I am not one to look ahead, except the next week, but Tyler Bray will come in the spring and take the keys to the QB train. Van't we get someone higher rated than 8?

Taking it a game @ a time. So far we have seen a great performance ( WKU ) a horrible performance ( UCLA ) & a decent performance ( Florida ) from our offense. We know what our D is going to give us. Its time for the offense to step up become consistent & put points on the board.

I'm not even gonna start on bowl projections. We just need to concentrate on winning games week-to-week. I think 7-8 wins is well within reach though...especially if we play with the intensity and heart we showed yesterday. If we do make it to 7-8 wins, a school like UT gets bids based on ability to sell tickets. Thats what has always helped us out when some thought we were getting bowl invites that we didn't necessarily deserve. It's all about the $$ but that's neither here nor there.

Auburn........two rookie coaches that came into similar situations. Will look bab if we can't beat Auburn at home.

Defense will keep us in the games....who will win them for us???

If our offense can get any kind of rhythm going, it will carry over in the coming weeks. Our running game can/will win games for us. I don't think we'll face a D as tough as UCLA other than Bama's because I think UCLA's D is WAY underrated from what I have seen. Before the end of the season that loss may not look as horrifying as it was...on paper at least.

The 3 game homestand needs to be a good one for them. 2-1 at least, really need to take all 3, might be too much to ask with this bad a offense. 7-5, 6-6 is my thinking looking at the rest of the schedule. 6-3 the rest of the way is optimistic considering our QB play right now. Reality is they're going to be in a lot of close nail biters, depends on how the ball bounces as to how good a season they'll have. Its kind of ironic, Kiffin is being forced to play Fulmer ball.

Auburn has had a successful start to the season, but they have yet to play anyone. West Virginia is decent, but not SEC caliber. Once they line up against a tough defense it should be a different story. It would be very disappointing if we don't beat them.

With how bad our QBs are, I just dont know what to expect any week. I'd even say next week isn't a gimmie. I'll be really happy if we win just by 1 TD.
