I watched the Chatt game and was very unimpressed with the team.
1. The players threw up 3 point shots on impulse. If we are goin to put up a lot of 3s then we need to get the shooter open by a drive and dish or screen. As far as 3s we were very undiciplined.
2. Tenn. players are in great shape and can keep a fast pace up for a long time. The conditioning of the group was great.
3. We looked like we were in a pick up game. I am a little let down. To me it seemed Pearl would settle the team down and not except the wild 3s and the rushed offense.
4. If we play like this all year we are in trouble and will not do anything in the tourney.

Fine vol, I agree. If this is how we are going to play all year, we are not going to do squat in the post season.

Yea I have only seen this game but I was a lil disappointed. I know we are better than this.

Bruce is still twisting the knobs and flipping the switches I think. Let's see how they take the floor against Ole Miss and make a further evaluation then..

a lot of great teams in the past have had slow starts like this...give the team some time...by the start of the SEC schedule the team chemistry will have developed.

The team is struggling, but this is the fourth or fifth game I have watched them play, and it was by far the worst. I think they are going to get it together

so far, what we have cannot be called a "team". they are a "squad". there is no semblance of team play, or an effective offense. it is pickup playground basketball.
nothing has improved during the course of this season. if it keeps going this way, as i already said, you can look for ones and dones in the march tournaments.

I was at the game and I was let down as well. Nothing was worse than the tomahawk dunk that was missed only to hear the UTC "fans" roar in laughter.

They haven't been playing well. Had a lot of games where they've shot around 35% from the floor. Free Throw shooting has been at times unbelievably bad.

I think they'll get it together, they just have to start making shots.

Did no one notice how well UTC Played. This was a very big game for them. Having the Vols in Chattanooga was what they were waiting for. As for the team play, I haven't seen that type of play for a long time in College basketball.

I hope we look back at this thread in a month and a half and laugh. That said, I am not laughing now.

Understandable, but still shouldn't have been that close.

I watched Chatt play when they were at IU and the team that play UT the other night is obviously playing better than they did against the Hoosiers.

UTC was beating Indiana at the half - so it's not like they can't get up for big games. They did crumble in the second half but the UT game was much more meaningful. Plus they played Southern Illinois so I think they've been tested quite a bit before they played us.

the press has not been that impressive this year....

They will get there because I have faith in Pearl to bring these guys together.
