as far as defense goes we should vastly improve from this year....2 starting LBs back....we will have a healthier and improved secondary....d-line is a concern but considering how much we sub in and out on the d-line it may not be a problem......ofense completly depends on the new qb and cutty....improved wrs and dont even need to mention the dominance of our backs and o-line but the question will be is our new qb gonna work out or is cutty gonna have confidence enough to even let him work if not cutty will turn us back into a run up the middle every play team

QB-?
RB-Foster;2Hardesty;3Creer
FB-Holbert/Cooper;2Bartholemew
WR-Taylor/Briscoe
WR-Rogers/Jones
TE-Cottam;2Stocker
OT-Scott
OG-Parker
C-McNeil
OG-McClendon
OT-Foster

DE-Ayers
DT-Bolden
DT-Williams
DE-Martin/Williams/Brown
LB-McCoy
LB-Mayo
LB-McKenzie/Myers-White/Wilson
CB-Vinson
FS-?
SS-Morley or Berry if he stays at SS
CB-Willingham or Berry if he moves back to CB

P-Colquitt
K-Lincoln
KR-Rogan/Creer
PR-Rogan

The only question marks to me are QB, FS, the DE spot opposite Ayers, and who replaces Karl. I think will have a shutdown D like LSU had this year. If Crompton or Coleman can get the passing game going then I think we have a good shot at winning the SEC next year.

I think Gerald Jones deserves to be a starting WR next year:yes:

At some point, the other wide receivers will have to start cutting in on Austin Rogers' playing time.

Where is last year's best hs linebacker at? Is Chris Donald not practicing well or something?

Throw Holbert in at TE/FB/WB role that Chris Brown played in.

Sullins or Pope will be the back up center. Pope or Sawtelle or the MBA kid will be the second string RT.

Everything else is spot on.

If you wanted to go 3 deep on the WRs add Paige and O'Neal/Moore.

So...is Donald a bust at this point?

Nobody's mentioning him for an LB spot next year...

What happened to him? Did he just not learn the scheme in time to play?

I can't believe that the stud I saw on film as a highschool senior wasn't even good enough to play some special teams this year...

Why waste a year of eligibility for him to play special teams?

He'll play there this year. And in 2009, he'll be one of the frontrunners for the MLB spot. He'll also be a RS sophomore instead of a junior. But as of right now, Mayo and Wilson are two talented seniors going in to 2008 that have the edge on experience. No one can complain about the way Mayo has played this season or Ellix when Mayo's not on the field.

Life after Ainge.....

I'm already anxious to see who our QB is going to be and how we are going to fair with a new kid that the QB helm.

agreed. i hope O'Neil and Paige are in the rotation next year.

Could we please quit calling for O'Neal every game, the kid has done nothing and by the end of the year you should expect a JC transfer to have earned PT and if not you could say there is a problem with said JC transfer. LT, JB, AR, GJ, QH, DM = way too many WR's for O'Neal to play next year.

if they hadn't tried to get him on the field this year, i might agree with you. my personal feeling is that they know this kid is fast. it's apparent that we don't have speed at WR. imo, it is if utmost importance to get him ready to play this off season so he is a contributor next year.

will he turn out to be a Nilo Silvan or Leonard Scott or will he turn out to be a late bloomer like Robert Meacham or Peerless Price? i'm hoping for the latter, and you can bet so are the coaches.

No Doubt! Could a real playmaker please stand up, please stand up.

That is what UT has been lacking for the last four years and it became obvious to me Sat. Ainge just has not made the big time plays that great QB's make. I like Ainge alot and will always view him as a solid QB at UT but one who didn't make the plays when needed. He giftwrapped a SEC title and NC shot to LSU as a early Christmas present.

I hope you're right also, but he has to step up as more than a deep threat otherwise it's like bringing in Crompton on 3rd and 2.

Crompton may have a lot to gain by having guys like O'Neil and Paige being in the rotation. LT and JB and AR will get plenty of p/t next year and will be serviceable just like this year.

i'm not saying i want a 9 man WR rotation, but when you look at our current crop of WR's, we have the full spectrum.....possesion, good route runners, speed guys.......the key is getting them developed to be meaningful to our offense. add in the TE situation, and the only thing we should have to work out is whether or not Crompton, COleman or Stephens can play. which i think Crompton can/will.

the offense next year has the potential to be special.
