Thoughts on Steve Sarkisian as OC

LOL @ all the holier than thou posters ITT. In college football you can't have your cake and eat it too. I'm not saying that morals do not belong in sports but the guy had a drinking problem. He's an addict, not a rapist. He would be an upgrade but I don't see him as a puppet therefore Butch won't hire him.

You're hiring someone to teach and oversee college students. This one got fired because he missed practices and showed up at rallies plastered...last YEAR! Left rehab early and did it again. Deserves another chance, sure...but he isn't entitled to it immediately. It isn't being all moral and uppity to be cautious. Addiction is a reality and so is awareness of such individuals. He embarrassed USC and I could see that as more of a consideration than whether he could be a sober "puppet".

It has nothing to do with holier than thou, it has to do with hiring problems. Its not a good idea.

Exactly. I am not telling something every Vols fan didn't realize at the time, but Johnny Majors reeked of Jack Daniels everytime I was within 20 yards of him. A blind man would have known he was around.

But Johnny never pulled the crap Sark did. He might have been sweating bourbon, but he knew enough not to quote Richard Pryor or Dennis Leary at a pep rally.

If that is what Saban wants around his team, fine. But we don't need that 5h1t.
