I love Kamara and what he has done, but he didn't exactly wow anyone with his 8 carries against Bama. 8 carries for 21 yards isn't exactly mind blowing. I'd give the argument that the OL hasn't helped much at all this year except for the 2nd half Florida to A&M stretch. Before and since, they were pretty much non existent.

Steve Sark is a drunk pill-head who is counter to the entire culture that has been revamped under Butch Jones.

His players at USC quit on him. They coasted by. They did not hold each other accountable because they did not respect him.

Much like Lane Kiffen, I do not support any person who would view Tennessee as a stepping stone, who would not buy-in to the Tennessee tradition, and who would alter the culture the Butch Jones has recreated at the University.

What are Volnations thoughts on hiring Steve Sarkisian as the O/C?

I read an article a few weeks back that he is only getting paid 30-40k at his current position as an offensive analyst for Bama.

He will become the OC for Alabama once Kiffin leaves and will rebuild his image there.

Love Butch Jones or hate him, I think most people would acknowledge that he holds himself, his staff, and his players to high standards. Steve Sarkisian (hope his recovery is going well), Art Briles, and Lane Kiffin are not the kind of people that Jones would consider appropriate role models for his players and spokesmen for the University of Tennessee. Note the departure of the former DC.

I like winning as much as the next, but not if we have to lower ourselves to clowns like these three.

I keep seeing this stat thrown out. But wasn't it somewhere north of 300 yards of that number came after that catch? Let me ask you this (I'm being genuine, not a smart butt): is it possible that our athletes are masking the bad play calling? (I'd also remove Saturday from the discussion because that was just a buzz saw.) I know you're connected so just curious what you think!

I think his play calling in some games has been very good and others not so good. In over half the games thus far, his play calling has been compromised due to OL play. If your OL is getting dominated it is difficult to call plays that work. Add a QB who has accuracy issues, just a tough call.

Diffiucult for us to assess when a coordinator having to scrap some plays due to a particular units capabilities.

When you quote this stat, be sure to include the 31 missed tackles that A&M accumulated, because believe me, that helped turn a lot of 4-5 yard gains into 10-12 yard gains.

And how many of those "missed tackles" were created because of the abilities of Kamara, Dobbs, Byrd, and company?

That's the problem with this fan base. Even when we do well you have to find faults. You have to find a reason to trash talk your own team. So my question is, why be a fan of them? Move on to Alabama or Ohio State and enjoy their time in the spotlight.

Thanks for saying this Larry. When are people going to understand this? A few posters have stated the obvious here, and that's that this is Jones' offense and any OC he hires is gonna have to toe the line with how Jones HIS offense run. Still so many more just wanna throw stones at Debord.

There's no flexibility here. It's not as though Jones would hire and new OC and all of a sudden we move to a pro style offense. As long as Butch Jones is here, no matter who the OC is, we're gonna see the same awful "power spread" offense, or whatever he's calling it.
