What are Volnations thoughts on hiring Steve Sarkisian as the O/C?

I read an article a few weeks back that he is only getting paid 30-40k at his current position as an offensive analyst for Bama.

Why do you think he's at bama? He's an insurance policy for Kiffins departure. He will not be coming here.

Don't think he is familiar with Butch's system which is a requirement for being hired here

This is the offense Butch runs. It's his offense and as long as he's the coach, this is what the Vols will run.

We might as well keep Debord. Whoever sits in the OC chair will have to run Butch's offense. I think that's a condition of employment.

This and even if Kiffin doesn't leave then this rule where a 10th coach is being talked about for every NCAA staff. If that gets passed then even if Lane stays there would be an open spot.

So he'd rather be a QB coach UNDER Kiffin than an OC?

I dont think Cutty Sark is our future. However, I would live for CbJ to "evolve" his scheme and turn over more control to Malzahn (if avail) or Briles. Art will get a second chance somewhere. He is too good not to. He will repair his image much like Petrino did. Might as well be at UT.

It won't happen. No doubt of his qualifications but even then it's a major distraction and Butch doesn't want that. Plus at best he is a merc. Comes in, has a good year, and leaves. Butch likes years of commitment from his assistant coaches.
