Sweet, if I had heard this story about a coach of another team I would admire him. This shows he really cares about the schoool and is willing to back the Vols up with action and not just words. This kind of action I believe can also spark a team up and I hope that a sparked up Vol team is in Fla in a couple of weekends. Im really glad Pearl is a Vol.

I remember the LSU coach chiding Pearl for pandering to the crowd last year and commenting to someone that Pearl should act like he has been there before. Pearl is charting territory that no one has been to before...and I'm glad he is a Volunteer!

Nothing was more inspiring that when he was talking to the students before the UF game last year and screamed that we were gonna kick Florida's ass.

I think it was cool for him to show up to support them. Shows he really cares for the Schools programs.

On the other hand I think it scared he girls a bit...hehe

i thought it was awesome.. hes just trying to show some support hoping to gain some more support in return!! the arena was electrified when they saw pearl walk in

local media here in charlotte has been discussing it a little, so far, all things i've heard are all positive. being in ACC country, they are looking at it from a PR and recruiting standpoint.

one of the comments i heard that stuck out:

On a night where TN mens basket ball isn't even on the docket, he finds a way to get run on ESPN w/out even playing a game. TENNESSEE BASKETBALL is getting NATIONAL RUN on ESPN......I think this is great for Tennessee, who for the most part has been an afterthough in college basketball. kids that are having decisions to make are now hearing about TN and seeing a guy like this that had he not been there, would probably never even get a look.

not a direct quote, but these guys are all over ACC bball in the area, and i think it's pretty telling that they thought it was a great stunt.

Pearl must be a god on campus today. Anybody know whether his picture is plastered on the front of the Beacon?

Motivation - tops
Strategy - tops
Fundamentals - top 3
Oncourt - tops
Finisher - tops

Once this guy gets all the pieces in place, UT will be considered top 5 year in and out.

I view it as my solemn duty to remind folks on the board that the outcome of the various athletic contests amongst and betwixt the SEC brethren also depend, just a smidge, on what the other guy is doing, too!!!
