I am just curious to see what everyone thinks our offense will look like against Western Kentucky, knowing just what we do now. What is the run/pass ratio, rush yards, pass yards, and how many points do we lay on them? Do we come out trying to make a statement, even though it should be a much inferior opponent? Last is anyone else a little bit anxious about that first game? Considering the opponent anything less than a blowout would be a dissapointment in my eyes. :hi:

Let's just hope we demonstrate them to be an inferior opponent. We didn't do that to anyone last year.

I imagine we will pound it against them a fair amount, with a vanilla passing attack.

I think we blow them out big. I'm glad we open the year with a cupcake as opposed to Cal or UCLA, it'll give our players some confidence going into the next week.

I'd take a win...I logged 12,000 miles in the last 2 openers and would be glad to drive 90 to see a cupcake blowout for once..

UCLA was a cupcake last year. Not bashing you just saying that game was lost due to lack of focus. As far as the thread goes we will run a lot and I think we throw 17-20 times

I agree with everything else you said though

WKU's QB play was abysmal last year, and this year they'll be playing a guy who was 3rd string and couldn't beat out an eventual transfer to Prarie View A&M(remember those guys?).

That being said, I don't expect us to score at will on them... unless our running backs start breaking 80 yard runs every 3rd play.

We'll score between 24 and 42... depending on defensive and ST TDs.

They'll probably get less than 7.

UCLA was lost because our coaches continued to call pass playes.
That too. I was watching that game wanting to know why we weren't running the ball. We pushed them around when we did. But we also gave up a 2 possession lead late and IMO that's due to lack of focus. I agree with what you said though

I look for a shutout here. If our D wants to be considered top tier, then anything other than a shutout is a disappointment.

That is unless one of our QBs throws a pick six. Here is another good question. How many snaps does Crompton get and how many for Stephens?

I see what you're saying, but I don't consider UCLA to be a cupcake. True, we should have pounded them into the ground, but I meant cupcake as in teams like UAB and WKU.

UCLAs D was actually pretty good.

Coaching just killed us in that game though. Call it bashing all you want, but we were completely out coached in that game.

Yeah I misunderstood. Sorry. But I do say they were a cupcake last year cause they were on what their 3rd string QB? Oh well that was last year and revenge is sweet

I place that game on Clawson's brilliant play calling mostly. I agree we got out coached. Any time the D forces 3 or 4 turnovers you should win the game easily

Don't forget that we played 10 yards off the WRs in the second half and gave them first down after first down.

Stephens gets 0 because I really believe Crompton will be surprisingly solid for us this year. Not awesome just solid (limited turnovers and a good facilitator of a simplified offense compared to last years'.)

Do any of you think we lose to UCLA? I mean take off the orange glasses and think like an unbiased fan.

If we don't come to play it could go either way but I don't think Kiffin and Co. Will want their first loss to be at home. Just have to hurry up and wait I guess lol

Yes! That mustang package killed us that game. They shredded it with those slants. Chavis should have known Norm Chow would have saw that and picked it apart

We made Mississippi State look pretty bad last year.
