Thoughts On Next Season?

We need at least one and maybe a second PG. We need a big man in the worst way. We need Hubbs to come into his own. We get those issues addressed and we'll be fine.

I may have missed it, but will Ian Chiles be on the squad next season? I know he was injured this year, and I wasn't sure if he was a redshirt candidate.

We need a new coach.

The dumbest post of this thread!

Our defense will be better next year, period! Even with the loss of Josh, which I regret as much as any VOL FAN, Donnie will find guys to supply the necessary points to outscore many of our opponents.

The only concern that I have will be the overall health of the team. We can't afford to go through another season with a shortage of able bodies like we did this year.

Finally, Donnie Tyndall needs to be our coach! Give him his 3 years, and he will prove to be in the top echelon of SEC coaches because of the way he teaches defense.

Long time Volnation lurker, first time poster:

We got rid of Adam Howard, our top X's and O's assistant, in wake of the NCAA investigation. Beau Braden replaced him; Has there been any talk of replacing that spot on the staff with a new assistant?

Welcome to the board! Glad you decided to register man.

Great post as well. I'd imagine we wouldn't hear of any changes until the NCAA finishes doing their business. It would be interesting to see if CDT upgrades his staff afterwards. I know absolutely nothing about his assistants.

Just browsing around, I found this pre-season article which gives some valued insight into the potential for Braxton Bonds and Willie Carmichael that may have gone unnoticed during the regular season. Both are freshmen and seem to have huge upside.
"Multiple interviews conducted at Tennessee basketball's preseason media day uncovered an interesting trio that's proved tough to beat in pickup games. Several players said anytime freshman walk-on point guard Braxton Bonds, freshman forward Willie Carmichael and junior wing Armani Moore are on the same team, that team never loses."
Odd trio tough to beat in Tennessee Vols basketball practice

You can get away with fouls in a pick up game, but not when the horn sounds.
The key words are potential and upside for two freshmen going into their second season. Both may fill needs at the PG and Post position in their sophomore campaign. Hubbs is a prime example of being coached up. These two may actually compete with new recruits for their respective roles in their second season.

Id like to think they're already starting, unless you're kentucky and you're starting your freshman, unless they're really talented, something's wrong there.

Starters next year imo

1. Phillips
2. Punter
3. Hubbs
4. Owens
5. McGhee

Is Armani Moore, who just averaged 10 and 7 this year, just going to disappear? He has to fit in there somewhere.

Edit- Nevermind I kept reading the thread I'm way behind.
