Florida seems to have one of the biggest bandwagon fanbases in all of sports. Even in "good" years, they always seem to have a lot of empty seats even against bigtime opponents. They don't deserve success if their fans bail anytime they're having a not great year.
The 55K at the UT-Charlotte game yesterday agree 100%.
Nevermind that you made up those figures considering the attendance was announced at 86,000. And this was against a team most people had never heard of. You guys aren't even selling out games against big time SEC opponents, and against lesser opponents the stadium seems less than half full.
Hyams estimated actual attendance at around 55k. FWIW.
You must have missed this post from Freak on the FB forum.
And in case you haven’t noticed, UF isn’t the only school not selling out games for conference opponents. Jordan-Hare looked to be at 60% capacity while Auburn made their comeback against A&M.
A simple Google search of “college football attendance” will bring up multiple articles about how attendance has dropped nationwide, from the Sun Belt to the SEC.
All I know is that post Tebow era I've watched a lot of Florida games, mainly higher profile ones, and the stadium is almost never close to being capacity. Even against Tennessee (which I realize both teams are down), there are a lot of empty seats, but when Florida comes to Knoxville it always seems to be sold out.
Then hold on tight to your smoking hot take that Florida fans are “the biggest bandwagon fans in all of sports”. Using extreme hyperbole is fun.
There’s no shortage of information validating the attendance issue is nationwide and not confined to a particular fan base.
The announced attendance and the 'real' attendance are equal how many times per decade?Nevermind that you made up those figures considering the attendance was announced at 86,000. And this was against a team most people had never heard of. You guys aren't even selling out games against big time SEC opponents, and against lesser opponents the stadium seems less than half full.
