I didnt think Lloyd was a very good football coach as far as X's and O's. I thought he was way too conservative at times. But, and even though I have never met him, he seems like the epitome of class and integrity. From all the interviews I have seen of him and his resignation interview today, he always put his players and the University of Michigan at the forefront. In the business of major college football, we all get caught up in wins and losses. It seems like winning is all that matters. But Lloyd Carr seems to feel that one thing comes before winning...and that is making a positive influence on the lives of the young men that played for him.

he won 5 Big 10 titles, won a national title, dominated OSU in the begning of his career.

his fatal flaw.....1-4 in rose bowls, and 1-6 against Jim Tressel.

LC and CPF have/had the same problem.....it's not what have you done........as much as it is what have you done lately.:thumbsup:

Many seem to forget that Lloyd Carr was a Tennessee boy (Hawkins County). I'll truly miss watching Lloyd roam the sidelines on Saturday afternoons.

Lloyd Carr is definitely a class act. I've had the opportunity to be around him twice, and he was as nice a guy as you could imagine.

Other candidates might include Carolina Panthers assistant Mike Trgovac, who played for the Wolverines and joined their coaching staff in 1984 as a graduate assistant; Kirk Ferentz of Iowa, where Michigan president Mary Sue Coleman was before coming to Ann Arbor; former Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh, now coaching Stanford; and NFL coaches Bobby Petrino in Atlanta and Tampa Bay's Jon Gruden.

Thanks for the answer hillbilly...Don't see Ferentz going, his team has been awful the past couple of season's....Harbaugh would def. come if offered, and as far as Petrino goes, I think he might stick it out another year to see if he can draft Brohm....

Personally, I think he's the best canidate on that list.

I do as well....and, I think he will demand the least amount of money to....Ferentz was getting crazy money to coach a mediocre Iowa team, Petrino will demand boo koo bucks to leave the pro's and Miles carries a buyout of over 1.5 million...Jim would be economically the most logical choice...

What I am thinking is that with MI , ARK, NEB, AUB, MISS, LSU, BAY, IOWA, & any Ive forgotten possibly looking for new HCs, It problably is a bad time to be trying to replace one.

Thats what I am thinking to....Nebraska wants Alvarez bad, but if he doesnt come I say Turner Gill goes there...Tubby to A&M and Muschamp possibly promoted....I also don't think it is to farfetched to believe that Major Applewhite goes with Tubbs leaving the OC position open for JimBo at Bama...
