Thoughts on Kiffin (merged)

So, he's not a quitter. That's a good thing. Oh, that's right. I forgot you have been one of Prince Phillip's staunchest supporters around here. Quitting isn't a bad thing in The Grand Kingdom of The Outhouse Bowl.

Whatever. Kiffin isn't the only delusional person apparently.

Yeah, I'm the delusional one. I really remember you being on the right side of the Fulmer issue in '05. Tennessee football is where it is right now because Hamilton is cowardly enough to listen to the silliness you and others have spewed about "loyalty" and how Fulmer "had earned the right" to try and fix what he broke. You should all be forced to spend eternity watching the fourth quarter and OT of the UCLA game and the first half Staurday on a continuous loop. It's what you deserve.

Dude, you have some serious anger issues. I thought you had resorted to going to the game for the band and such.

I'll call Hamilton tonight and let him know I'm OK with letting coach go now.

I have no anger issues. I just like watching people get what they deserve.

It's stupid to judge someone on how he does with the Raiders. Nobody can destroy a franchise quite like Al Davis. Kiffin would be awesome here, I think.

Keep bandwaggoning for Kiffin. It'll come soon enough.
I could care less if we hire Lane Kiffin. I'm just mocking your ridiculous notion that not leaving the Raiders quietly shows some character flaw. Mike Shanahan stayed embroiled in litigation with Al Davis for almost a decade. I guess he's crazy and can't coach.

Well, I can tell you one thing....When (not IF but when) the UT coaching job becomes available....We will not have a hard time attracting GOOD head coaching prospects. UT is obviously a well known tradition and You can bet there will be great coaches surface to take the job. If hamilton promotes Clawson....we need to revolt....Clawson to me looks like a QB coach ONLY....A QB coach that is calling plays....I dont see any innovative play designs at all....to me he needs to be demoted to coaching QB's only

IMO Clawson won't be named HC unless the team (offense) first shows dramatic improvement under his tutelage. I just don't think Hamilton would do that, given the opportunity for a fresh face.

My jury is still out on Clawson. You can have the greatest game plan in the world. If your team, QB in particular, is incapable of running your offense it's not worth a dime. He's new to the UT system as well. Of course, it's also necessary for an OC to tailor th game plan to the personnel he has and their capabilities. At this point I just don't think JC has shown even a hint of aclue.

Kiffin was great for the organization, the only problem was the owner.

I also have seen Rob Ryan as kinda like John Chavis.

They both have pretty good defenses against a standard offense, but if they're coaching against a lot of team speed or if the game is on the line... they've already showered and left.

In Ryan's defense, the Raiders haven't exactly been stocked with talent during his tenure. That said, his brother is the better coach.

Personally I think Kiffen has done at pretty good job at Oakland. At least they are competitive.
