Thoughts on going to Battle at Bristol without a ticket?

Wrong. Traffic is going to suck hard core.

It's funny to me that this has the potential to be a once-in-lifetime game...definitely biggest crowd ever, a chance for revenge on the Hokies, and will be an event that nobody could possibly forget....

And yet some people can only focus on how quickly they'll get out after it's over.

I always stay the whole game no matter what but when its over and we lose watch out I start cussing everyone trying to get back to 40 mostly because we just lost but still you get the point...if we win its a whole different story tho

I live 3 exits south of the Bristol Motor Speedway exit. There are usually a few scalpers there at the Ingles parking lot.

The best place is exit 63 (Blountville Exit). There is a big fireworks store at that exit where alot of race scalpers set up shop. I may check for some deals that morning.

So, I am thinking about driving the five hours and scalping a ticket, good or bad idea? Prices on Stub Hub starting at $170 for nose bleed and going well over $500 for good seats. PS anyone know what side Vols fans will be on, I know we will be allover the place just wondering if we have assigned sides? Thanks in advance.

there are always some scalpers at any venue and they will be at this one as well. cost will be driven by availability which can never be predicted.

Back in 80s, I went to first game without extra tickets versus New Mexico and they were selling for five times face value. We had Auburn the next week and I had extra tickets. I ended up giving them away because I couldn't sell them.

Just can never tell

Waltrip section A row 57. I'm in enemy territory.

I'm waltrip A row 55. I guess they must have been overrun with requests to sit on the Tennessee side because they asked which one I wanted and it definitely wasn't Vtech. I'm sure everyone will be scattered out anyway

For many years (20+), I have sold my UT tickets for games I could not attend. During one 14 year stretch, I lived in Arizona. The point being: I pay close attention to home and away ticket prices/availability. I don't have "ticket ESP" or anything, but my experience tells me that obtaining tickets for Bristol is not going to be a problem. Really GOOD, side line seats? Pricey, IMO. But obtainable.

The face value on side line tickets is over 100 dollars. I think many folks did what I did; bought more tickets than they actually need and plan to re-sell some and make a profit. I purchased 10 (around the 20 yard line). I'll use 6 and sell the others. I think this will be common among both sets of fans. A month prior to the game you'll have a very good idea about ticket availability. We're still four months out----again, my educated opinion---I see no problem going minus a ticket. (Personally, I couldn't do it because it would drive me nuts not having one 'in-hand'. But, that's me.) I do wish you luck.
