Thoughts on Crompton (merged)

For what it is worth, he seemed as educated as any college kid his age. I've had several political science classes with him.

That's good. At least he will have a career after college because we know it won't be in football...unless he coaches.

Dang, that's Forrest Gump level. So what we really need is someone following our open receiver with a sign that says, "Jon, throw it here!"?

Well...."Run Forrest, Run" might not be a bad idea assuming Forrest can hand off. I bet any of our QB's can do that. Usually.

Crompton is not a qb, he a is a big kid, put him out at like tight end or just sit em on the bench, yeah I know he's waited to start and blah blah blah. Crompton's position may be qb but he is not cut out to be a qb, his passes are wacky, his reads are terrible, he just doesn't seem to have the right motions. Now BJ Coleman and Nick Stephens, those guys are qb's and should be used for the rest of the season just to save us all from being laughed off the face of the earth. Please pull the plug on Crompton Fulmer and Clawson and oh yeah Chavis, blitz, blitz, blitz, frustrate the hell out the opposing offenses and quit playing so freiken soft.

Stephens and Coleman have shown nothing to warrant any of this.

i can remember being in the stands last year and people were yelling put crompton in. Now I am no fan of the guy at all but to say put the other two in is just ricockulous without seeing what kind of pressure they themselves can handle when actually under pressure being down by 30 isn't really a pressure situation I mean what have you go to lose

I remember alot of folks on here building him up to be the best thing since sliced bread. If anyone posted any negative criticism about him they would be ripped to shreds. One thread particularly comes to mind. I believe it was "Cromptons Throwing Motion" I was just curios if there is anyone left willing to defend him???:whistling:

Crompton has had his chances. Time for somebody else to get a chance. If you can't even get the correct plays in from Clawson in the booth, time to give Gerald Jones or one of the other guys a shot.

Unfortunately, had we given any of these guys more significant snaps last year, we would have probably been able to know what we had with any of these guys before now.

He is physically talented enough to play in this league. He's just not very smart. The question is, since he claims to not "read the paper" or listen to the media, do you think it has entered his thick skull that the Vol faithful think he's retarded?

Or that the boo's are for him.

I don't think he is retarded by any means. But, when I hear the reports about him only being able to handle 25% of the playbook I do begin to wonder about his aptitude and the ability to perform basic tasks as a quarterback.
