Thoughts on an 8th home game

What's the big deal? We played 8 home games last year if you include going to Nashville to play Vanderbilt.

Ohio State in 02 played 8 home games and 1 in state game.

I think we should play VT in a neutral site. Bristol Motor Speedway baby! :rock: Do you know how much attention that would draw? 160,000 to see UT vs. VT! Recruits would love it. Hamilton needs to do this in 2009.

While I see the sexy side of the Vols playing VT that you're promoting I also see this. I see very little benefit if any to playing VT. They have everything to gain and we have a huge amount to lose. They left the big East to promote themselves and other than Miami they have little to toot their horn over. Beating the Vols in Bristol on Tennessee ground is all to their advantage, that and their kicking game is superior to ours. VT has a coach who at this time is pivitol and could go either way while ours has made his statement and is on his downhill slide. If the Vols wanna go looking for outside conference adversaries I suggest the Big 12...they still have some marquie value and ain't that tough.
