Thoughts from Fayetteville

Bradshaw couldn't throw it in the ocean his first two years when he was playing exclusively on the perimeter. It's really simple. He can't shoot, period. That doesn't diminish the effort he gives. However, to act as if his poor shooting is the result of injuries or playing inside is pure folly.

i said dane was a very good COLLEGE bball player...mostly for his toughness and determination... i agree with u guys on the points that he used to be able to shoot...but right now when he's practicing, i doubt CBP is telling him to practice shooting, rather, Pearl is telling him to practice guarding Chism or Crews to get more practice at the PF position....he's obviosuly not shooting as much as lofton or jujuan in practice, which is probabely why he lost his touch as of late...

AND include the fact that he has lost his confidence because of his slump AND because of the pressure fans place on him...

Also, the Big East and the Big 10 are both much more physical than the SEC.

big baby
joakim noah
al horford
randolf morris

these are NBA players that Dane is going up against...

and on tuesday, i can hear u guys saying that he sucked...only because he is going up against noah and horford....

1. You're right, but he'll dominate every night when he is a slasher with at least a mid range game.
2. Gordon's not in the debate IMO. Our level of confidence on offense with him is in a different world.
3. On which end were we not dominated inside.
4. I didn't say he's the worst. I said he misses more dunks than anyone.
5. Back that assertion - somehow - please.
8. Hill is quick, jumps well and has good timing. Might have the worst hands on earth.
9. All man offenses are based upon the screen. I'm simply describing what I saw today.
10. Dane is an offensive liability period. He gets the rock on the perimeter and his defender sprints to the middle of the lane.
11. Duke wasn't the only one missing FTs. The only one making them was Lofton. Even JuJuan missed at least one on back to back trips at crunch time.
12. I'd take my chances with the aggressiveness on the boards.

5. Well, we are next to last in field goal defense in the league, so I guess I should have said we're worse than you give credit.
8. I don't think Hill is quick - at all. I haven't seen him in person so I have to guage this based on TV.
10. He's a scoring liability, but to say it's 4 on 5 is rough. He's one of the best, if not the best passer on the team.

He didn't guard Davis. He didn't guard Morris. He won't guard Horford. If I'm saying his offense is terrible, it has nothing to do with who he is playing against. It has everything to do with the fact he's been shooting under 20 percent for over a month now.

i don't how much basketball that you guys have played in your lifetime, but i have played a considerable amount. and i like bradshaw (on a smaller scale however) had to play down low against much taller and larger men because of my team's lack of size. the effort it takes to be successful at doing this effects your offensive game more than you would imagine unless you have done this. i'm not saying that is all tha reason dane's offensive game is nonexistent, but i have no doubt it contributes greatly to his offensive problems.

Ok.... I'm tired of bashing Dane Bradshaw for his lack of offense. Look guys, he won't be here next year, take that how you will, but we will miss him immensely. His courage and grit has carried this team for two years now. Maybe next year we will recruit a taller forward that will be more productive than Dane. Who knows, but right now lets just appreciate what he has done. Thank you Dane, we'll miss you.

1. Opponents with good basket protectors make Ramar Smith dramatically less effective.
2. Candace Parker excepted, no player in the SEC makes as much of impact on his team as Chris Lofton.
3. Our inside game was borderline embarrasing today, on both ends.
4. Crews misses more dunks than any player I've ever seen, and there's nobody close.
5. Our half court D is mediocre at best, but did show some signs of life today.
6. If Stan Heath were a coach, he would have pounded the ball relentlessly today and the outcome would likely have been different. They also looked shocked by the press in the 2nd half. They did the same against Missouri and there was no doubt about the game Anderson was bringing. No revelation here, but Heath's days are numbered in Fayetteville.
8. Stephen Hill is a terrible offensive player, but is a much better athlete than he gets credit for.
9. Our offense stagnates often because it initiated so far from the basket. We also screen poorly. Part of that is weak effort on the screener's part, the rest is the lack of effort in setting up the defender for the screen, especially for the back screens along the baseline.
10. Dane made a 3 in the game today and that was as many as I saw him make during warm ups. When he's on the floor, we're playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end.
11. Our FT shooting is abysmal and let AR back in that game.
12. If everyone else on the team went after boards like JuJuan, we'd average a +15 rebound differential.

Why stop the list there, when there are countless criticisms left? Here are some other thoughts:

1) Crews is a terrible 3-pt shooter (my 2-year old nephew could make more than he could)
2) Lofton's dunking skills are horrendous (ever watch Jordan or Dominique Wilkins? THOSE guys can dunk.)
3) Our freshman are underdeveloped (can't they be more like Durant and Greg Oden? Jeez....)
4) Ramar can't make a halfcourt shot if his life depended on it. (ever heard of Pistol Pete? You might want to watch some film of him)
5) We only drew 18 thousand plus for that road game? Lame.
6) We only won by 11? UCLA would've won by 30.

Please, add more.

10. He's a scoring liability, but to say it's 4 on 5 is rough. He's one of the best, if not the best passer on the team.

One thing I have noticed is that it was only a few games back where he was driving to the basket often and dishing off to someone else for a nice assist. It doesn't look like he even has the confidence to do that anymore.
