I said after the Western Kentucky game they'd win 7 or 8. They met expectations.

Predicted 7-5 . . . We finished 7-5, but it didn't look quite like I thought it would.

I thought we'd finish 8-4 honestly. And if it wasn't for 1 yard. I would have been right. I thought Crompton would manage games well, he far exceeded that. I thought Bryce Brown would have more carries and yards, but how do you take away carries from Hardesty? I thought the defense would be solid, and finally I thought this coaching staff would be good, but little did I know they'd be this good. Can't wait till next year GO VOLS!

Exciting win and I too am impressed with the job CLK did this year. I was thinking when UT hired him that recruiting would be his strong suit and we would have to wait for him to become good with the X's an O's. He has proved that he will be just fine with that aspect of college coaching and we should be in for a nice run.

Oddly, in spite of the great wins over UGA and S. Carolina, the most impressive part of the season was 2 losses, Fla and Ala. This win at Kentucky is a great win too though. They have been as hot as anyone in the SEC lately.

This - but we sure did have a shot at a couple that we had no business being in either.
That's the part I didn't really expect. We were a lot more competitive in the big games than I was afraid we were going to be; especially after the way the passing game looked back in September. The one that really hurt was UCLA, but that's the kind of loss that's bound to happen early in the year with a coaching change.

Overall, we ended up being a lot more fluid offensively and a lot more physical than I thought we could be.

A very respectable first year. What I like best is the fact that no one on this team gives up, they keep fighting to the very last second.

I have been watching U.T. football since 1988, and it is exciting to watch a U.T. team that is so obviously well coached. I am not used to that. It is also a great pleasure not to witness 30 to 40 screen passes and 1 yard sideline passes a game.

Hope for the future is a wonderful thing, my thanks to the entire coaching staff!

Before the season started, I thought the ceiling for the regular season would be 8 wins. I was figuring a win against UCLA and a loss to Georgia, so those evened out.

Lost to Alabama & Florida like I figured, but they were both very interesting obviously.

Other than Vanderbilt, I thought the rest of the conference schedule could go either way, and it did for the most part.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied, especially with the way Crompton and the entire passing game progresses as the season went along. Without thinking about it much at all, I'd have to say the turnaround that Crompton and the passing game made from the start of the season to the end has to be the biggest of any one person or unit in college ball this season.

The defense did well for the most part considering all the injuries and suspensions they dealt with at times. I'm not sure anyone could've figured the entire kicking game would have struggled as much as it did. Every single aspect of it was horrible, all the way down to the final game tonight. Hopefully Palardy will fix a lot of that.

we finished about where I felt we'd finish. I sure would love to play AU and UCLA over again, however. A few things about this staff really impressed me: we had to use a patchwork O-line and were still one of the most physical running teams in college football and very steady on offense; two words: Jonathon Crompton-enough said with what these coaches did for him; we faced devastating losses on D in the middle and with the "situation at Pilot" and still played pretty darn good on D-especially the second half of games (which leads to my next point); I almost always felt like these coaches were extremely well prepared given how we were very disciplined with penalties, seemed to always (for the most part) be in the right places (even if we did miss tackles) and made great adjustments in game-something we haven't seen on the sidelines or at half time in a long while. In short, I never really felt we were going into a game with a decided disadvantage at coaching, which is how I've felt the last few years for sure. Tonight was a great example of great half time adjustment. If this guy can continue to recruit like he has been.............take notice, we're comin'!!!

2 plays from being 9-3.

I will take what we have, for what we had to do it with.

Brighter days are on the horizon for the Vols.

I thought 8-4 so you would think I was a little disappointed, but I am not. The UCLA should be victory was balanced out by beating the crap out of UGA. Keeping it close with UF and Bama and only getting blown out once (and that only the 4th qtr) just added that we are on our way back.

As few a times as we were penalized all year goes to coaching. Crompton's progression goes to coaching. Finishing out all but one 4th qtr goes to coaching. Just flat out never quitting goes to coaching. Looking more composed and organized goes to our coaching staff. We knew about their recruiting prowess, but they exceeded my coaching expectations. GBO!!

I predicted anywhere between 8-5 and 6-7 (obviously, I'm including the bowl game).

I thought we'd got 8-5 if we were lucky and didn't have too many injuries. I thought that if we had lots of injuries, considering our lack of depth, we'd lose some games we shouldn't.

As it turns out, we did have lots of injuries, but still were able to have a winning record this season. I'm pleased, and I guess my expectations have been exceeded, since I predicted 6-7 if we had lots of injuries.

A top 5 recruiting class with 1 or 2 more O-linemen than we have right now will be icing on the cake!
