I think we need work on D but will come together hopefully before the season starts, but a major concern is LB. I think RB's are going to be fine... upbeat tempo and line push as I saw today should open up a good not great running game. WR's are strong, and QB's are coming along nicely. Have to give my nod right now to HB, but just my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised and like what I've seen so far.

Thoughts?

That's one thing if anyone questions HB's arm strength should take up watching curling...... just saying..... kid throws a great deep ball......but I tell you... I'd hate to have to make the call who starts for me at QB but would be hard pressed to not start Bailey. All the QB's seem to have a grasp on the offensive concept and tempo but HB just seems to have the leg up. Again JMHO. Hate to have to play against him as a DB.

But we all know it's a glorified scrimmage but have to say I like what I'm seeing. The real practices start in the fall and a roster lineup. Have to admit I wasn't onboard with the CJH but he's showing he knows ball and can coach it. But only time will tell.

This team will look nothing like what we saw at the spring game. With the return of all the injured players, plus the rest of the 2020 recruits, the return of suspended players, and the addition of transfer signees this team will be much better come fall. Yesterday's game was fun for the players and fans.

Loved the scrimmage and was happy with what I saw. What impressed me the most was the speed of the offense and the very small number of pre-snap penalties to be going that fast early in development.

I think we need to bring Monte Kiffin back as Defensive Coordinator with his Tampa 2.
That'll fix it!
If we did, I’d put my 401 k on his son’s team before that matchup. The spread was the beginning of the end for Monte.

I thought the OL and the offense was looking good, however could it be the defense? First three really good gains passing - there wasn't a defender anywhere close to the receiver. Bust after bust on defense, with a nice pick six thrown in there to help take some of that sting out. Hopefully the reason the offense shined wasn't because of the competition level from our D. If so, and we want to win games, the coach needs to do long sustained drives to burn up clock and keep our D off the field, and actually score in the red zone. Pruitt's team did that, but couldn't put up points. Graphic on TV said each of Heupel's UCF years, he put up 43 pts a game. Of course he's playing with the big boys now..

Summary: Cautiously optimistic.

The Oline looked to be muck quicker and aggressive than any Tennessee Oline in the last 10 years or so. I was impressed even though the were against a Dline with most of their players not playing. I think we score a lot of points this Fall.

Tenn has NO TALENT on its 2nd and 3rd team on Defense .. as soon as injuries and such come, ( AND THEY WILL) Vols will be playing walk ons against SEC .. depending on what NCAA does, and when, Vols will need 4 seasons to be back firm..

Who were we missing on defense

Bailey scorched the 2nd and 3rd string defense. The WR's are very good. Mauer is QB1. We need some damn LB's.
