Phillip has always stood by wanting to beat Bama more than any other team. Guess he doesn't think we can do it without being Bama junior. I feel like Pedro Martinez when he said tip the cap and call the Yankees my daddy. I guess we are Bammers now and it makes me sick. I severely disappointed in this. It goes without saying we have been made fun of by the whole sports world. I believe this just says we accept our lot in life. We are content putting Bama posters on our walls. I remember when kiffin was here posters of Reggie bush were put up. I don't want to hear about TJ Yeldon or any of those guys. They are disgusting, putrid and it's beyond disturbing to me that now we are giving up on the return to Volunteer pride. I'll be ticked till kickoff about this hire of Pruitt. Forgive me Volnation but I just can't bring myself to blindly liking this.

We hired a real football coach with a resume worthy of the job for the first time since 1992 and this your reaction?

You ought to appreciate the fact that Phil hired the best candidate for the job regardless of where they were from or what school they attended.

After the past 2 weeks I'm thrilled.

Cutcliffe was a Bama grad and coached with Phil for a long time. We hired a football coach with the resume to backup the selection be happy.

agreed. or if auburn fans think less of dye since he's a uga grad, or dickey fans at tn because he's a fl guy or david cutcliffe b/c he's a bama guy. or fl fans of spurrier b/d he's from e. tn......

get over it.

such a double standard "we want to win, why don't we do things that win" and we go get a guy that is an elite defensive coach, won multiple recruiter of the year awards, and is highly thought of by possibly the best coach of all time, and all the sudden we want to play "he's not a vol card"?

fine, where was all your support for Kevin Steele or Tee Martin? i don't remember either one of them getting an equal share of support as Pruitt is getting bashed.

just saw the dye/cutcliffe stuff before i posted, oops.

but this is a stupid message to be sending. and i can guarantee that many of the same people raising cain right now would have done the same thing had we hired steele or martin, and would have labeled phil a moron for getting guys "close to home" and not going after a winner.

so short sighted.

He may but he’s also smart to see talent and ability.

He’d have to be stupid to pass up hiring a great coach from a program that has been dominant for years.
