Those that attacked Fulmer repeatedly these past few years should be ashamed.

Since you don't know me and I've not been on record being the greatest Kiffin supporter, your logic and credibility with me are flawed right out the gate. And since you defend someone who even with loyalty to the program tanked it, your credibility sinks even further. Add to the fact you are still dwelling in the past? You're batting .000.

Get over it. Fulmer failed. Regardless of how long it took. Keep in mind Fulmer's failures are what got us Kiffin. Look at the past two seasons worth of wins and losses. Look at the quality QB. Look at the number of walk-ons having to start. Look at the lack of depth. Look at the end result of what started off as a top recruiting program in the country. Kiffin is a tool. But in the end, the guy had no ties and loyalty to begin with. The man you defend and praise is someone with every bit of a tie to the program and look at where he took it.

One more comment about the guy you praise....how many people beat down his door to hire him? The tool that is Kiffin goes to USC - a program fully loaded with talent right off the bat. Fulmer went where again? Passed over from how many schools?

The fact that you think Fulmer did more "damage" to UT than what Kiffin/Orgeron have done this past year along damaged every ounce of cred with me. Feeling is mutual there.

I don't think some of you even know what Fulmer's record was. How many coaches can say they won 3/4 of their games. I agree he let things slide and needed to go but some of the comments attacking him personally are asinine. Say what you will but he is a good man and loves this program. While I don't particularly want to see him as HC, I think he would do well as AD. He was giving his all for Tennessee when most of the ones who are attacking him were still on momma's teet.

Just wait until we finish in 5th or so in the East next year. Kiffin's damage is going to be felt for a long time.

You really believe Fulmer builds Crompton into a serviceable SEC QB? Because that is what it took to get that 7-6 record.

Fulmer lost the plot offensively. The receiver corps was weak. The quarterback poorly-coached and beaten-down. The running backs and offensive line severely-depleted. Tight end position was about the only set-up he had going for him.

Had he remained coach, our entire season would've been like Wyoming '08. 7-6? He would've been lucky to win two or three games with his system and his lack of ambition.
all i'm saying is if ut had kept fulmer we would never have gotten kiffin and had this mess and embarrassment. i liked fulmer in his early days but not much in his later days and what he did with the program.

Yeah, Kiffin did a lot of winning this year...7-6. Fulmer would have gone 7-6 this past season too...or better.

Loyalty goes a long way in college football. Kiffin's lack of loyalty to UT has set the UT football back probably at least three years. It's important.
wait, this is basically the same team as fulmer had his last year!! and what was his record? 5-7... god you guys are so stupid...

Well, just a few days ago this whole board and probably you too thought he got it right with Kiffin as coach. Talking **** about rivals and committing tons of violations along with turning the hostess program into what basically appeared to be a brothel is a f***** disgrace to everything UT stands for. Those that defended the piece of **** should hang their heads in shame. The guy was a bigger douche than Meyer and Saban from year one because he had never won s***. Talk s***? You better have the rings to back it up. He didn't.

Kiffin ran UT into the ground in one year. He did more damage in one year than Fulmer did (as you seem to think he did damage) in over two decades.

Your talking to a wall. You can't reason with these people. You think were just fighting people like Kiffin. LOL The reality is loyal and REAL Tennessee fans are fighting the people who have posted hate filled posts on this thread. Those who have no ability to see what Coach Fulmer did for young men, the University, and Volnation. They get around each other and prop each other up. Because there all so loud mouthed and obnoxious, they only hear themselves. So they think everyone agrees with them. The reality is, the vast majority do not agree with you. You have to get hateful and bash a great man like Coach Fulmer instead of making any real sense when defending your position. The reality is, the opinion of people like this really doesn't matter. That's why there so angry.

We need a coach that: (in order of importance)

1) Love's the University of Tennessee and is loyal to it and it's fanbase.
2) Conducts himself honorably and brings credibility to the University.
3) Impacts the lives of the young men in his program in a positive way.
4) Gives his all for Tennessee everyday.
5) Believes in Pounding the rock, Controling the clock, Limiting Mistakes, Never letting up, Pursuing and gang tackling on D, Winning in the Kicking game, playing for 60 mins and never giving up.

And as a Tennessee Volunteer fan, if you do not hold true these values as well, you are not one of us. They are part of the core values of our University and it's Football program. And if you despise these values, you are a Gator fan, a Bulldog fan, a Wolverine, a Trojan or something else. Not a Volunteer. Period.

I don't care what happened yesterday, or today for that matter, life is better without fulmer.

Looking back, I was always for Coach Fulmer and thought he should have been given another year but this is a good life lesson for Vols. Coach Fulmer gave everything he had for Tennessee. Just like the sign says above the locker room. He gave his all for well over two decades. :clapping:

Do you like losing???? He's sucked since 02.

it really sucks that our only 2 coaching prospects are Fulmer or Kiffin. Dang we're screwed

not generally a good move to hire a guy out of loyalty who can't seem to find a job elsewhere.

For the record, I don't see how bringing Fulmer back would benefit the program... at head coach. AD, maybe one day.

Nice coach and thanks for the NC. If he is as good a coach as you believe then why is he still looking for a coaching position. This should tell you that this cherished piece of pie; you so adore, has spoiled.

No one even came close to hiring Fulmer this past year. Not even small programs. Bringing him back will not help. At all. I feel no remorse for anything I said about him in the past because it was all true
