Those that attacked Fulmer repeatedly these past few years should be ashamed.

Looking back, I was always for Coach Fulmer and thought he should have been given another year but this is a good life lesson for Vols. Coach Fulmer gave everything he had for Tennessee. Just like the sign says above the locker room. He gave his all for well over two decades. Meanwhile, Kiffin made a mockery of everything UT stands for and also had the nerve to say he gave his all for 14 months or some bull**** like that.

Class - Fulmer

Ass - Kiffin/Orgeron

The whole Kiffin saga along with Orgeron trying to destroy the entire fabrication of Tennessee football will go a long way in teaching this fanbase a good lesson.

Hats off to Ben Martin for saying Hamilton should call Fulmer and give him his damn job back.

While I love Fulmer, and believe that none of the hate he gets is deserved, the game had passed him by. He doesn't deserve his job back. He's at a down point in his coaching career where they best he's gonna get us each year is 9 wins, maybe 10 counting a bowl win. We aren't gonna win national titles with Fulmer here.

Blah...

Being loyal doesn't mean Failmer was a good coach.

The situation with our former douchebags does not relate to The Fired Coach. He should've been gone long ago...

Given another year for what? He was getting millions and producing mediocre or losing seasons. It's a big time business---produce or hit the road.

Please tell me this is a joke. Please tell me you are not serious about this. Fulmer was alumnus and did damage to this program. He clearly deserved to be fired for his subpar excuse of a performance. Kiffin screwed over a school he had no allegiance to. Fulmer dragged his own alma mater down.

This is NOT a lesson learned that Fulmer should have been given another year. It was a lesson learned about finding a quality replacement. Dream on about the Fulmer having more years crap. He failed and got his due. If anything Hamilton botched the hiring of a replacement and should be held accountable for that business decision. He got Part A right but tanked Part B.

Most of us who wanted Fulmer gone going back to 2005 or earlier had very little clue as to who Lane Kiffin was. We wanted a change and we got it. Now we're getting another one. Change is inevitable. Change is good. Embrace change. If you do, you'll feel better about yourself and live longer.

The recent issues does NOT negate the validation behind Fulmer's dismissal. Ship was going straight into an iceberg while he was studying tapes.

Game passed him by.

Fulmer was a good coach but he did overstay his welcome. He should've resigned/retired after the 2004 season, took some years off from coaching get the urge to coach again and returned somewhere else in 2008 or 2009.

The last 3 years at Tennessee ruined his reputation.

Well, just a few days ago this whole board and probably you too thought he got it right with Kiffin as coach. Talking **** about rivals and committing tons of violations along with turning the hostess program into what basically appeared to be a brothel is a f***** disgrace to everything UT stands for. Those that defended the piece of **** should hang their heads in shame. The guy was a bigger douche than Meyer and Saban from year one because he had never won s***. Talk s***? You better have the rings to back it up. He didn't.

Kiffin ran UT into the ground in one year. He did more damage in one year than Fulmer did (as you seem to think he did damage) in over two decades.

What does Fulmer's "loyalty" have to do with winning?

Yeah, Kiffin did a lot of winning this year...7-6. Fulmer would have gone 7-6 this past season too...or better.

Loyalty goes a long way in college football. Kiffin's lack of loyalty to UT has set the UT football back probably at least three years. It's important.

A coach whose highest ambition devolved into winning 8 games per year was not worth keeping at Tennessee.

Amen! Stand up when you testify! Seriously people PLEASE give the Fulmer crap up. He left us with little to nothing! He should have retired years ago.
Great man with good character and loved the school and all and I dont doubt that at all but that doesnt get top recruits or wins please let him go off in the sunset somewhere and we find a great coach asap.

I don't think some of you even know what Fulmer's record was. How many coaches can say they won 3/4 of their games. I agree he let things slide and needed to go but some of the comments attacking him personally are asinine. Say what you will but he is a good man and loves this program. While I don't particularly want to see him as HC, I think he would do well as AD. He was giving his all for Tennessee when most of the ones who are attacking him were still on momma's teet.

I don't know but Kiffin's "loyalty" is going to have a lot do with this team being the laughing stock of the SEC for the next 4-5 years. If you don't think loyalty means anything, hopefully this situation will teach you a very important life lesson.

i think if fulmer had stayed he could have given us a 7-6 season. then if everyone was still mad get rid of him now and lame train would have never been our head coach. saving us from last years embarrassment of lames big ego and big mouth.

What an asinine post filled with inaccuracies.

Talking poop about rivals? Yes.

Committing "tons" of violations? No.

Turning the Orange Pride into a brothel? No.

Running UT into the ground in one year/doing more damage than The Fired Coach? No.

Bigger douche than Meyer or Saban? Yes.

Get a clue.

You really believe Fulmer builds Crompton into a serviceable SEC QB? Because that is what it took to get that 7-6 record.

Fulmer lost the plot offensively. The receiver corps was weak. The quarterback poorly-coached and beaten-down. The running backs and offensive line severely-depleted. Tight end position was about the only set-up he had going for him.

Had he remained coach, our entire season would've been like Wyoming '08. 7-6? He would've been lucky to win two or three games with his system and his lack of ambition.

Since you don't know me and I've not been on record being the greatest Kiffin supporter, your logic and credibility with me are flawed right out the gate. And since you defend someone who even with loyalty to the program tanked it, your credibility sinks even further. Add to the fact you are still dwelling in the past? You're batting .000.

Get over it. Fulmer failed. Regardless of how long it took. Keep in mind Fulmer's failures are what got us Kiffin. Look at the past two seasons worth of wins and losses. Look at the quality QB. Look at the number of walk-ons having to start. Look at the lack of depth. Look at the end result of what started off as a top recruiting program in the country. Kiffin is a tool. But in the end, the guy had no ties and loyalty to begin with. The man you defend and praise is someone with every bit of a tie to the program and look at where he took it.

One more comment about the guy you praise....how many people beat down his door to hire him? The tool that is Kiffin goes to USC - a program fully loaded with talent right off the bat. Fulmer went where again? Passed over from how many schools?

I think you are the one that needs a clue. Kiffin committed how many violations as UT coach? Certainly more than average.

LOL....yeah, UT is in so much better shape now than it was just last year with the most successful UT coach ever at the helm. Sooooo much better.

The Orange Pride was a made a mockery and if you really think those girls were just tour guides then you need your head examined. That Lacey chick must have been the gf of every player on the friggin team if you believe that.

Get a clue.
