Those Bashing Dooley

And should be better this year.....so what does their beat down say? The Big 10 sucks? Yes it does.....Michigan were the champs.... They still suck and got bent over and crammed by Bama exposing them as pussies....get it?

Michigan has one of the best recruiting classes in the land this year, and he said that recent success or failures don't matter to recruits. Plus, an OOC loss to Alabama for Michigan, is not even remotely close to a conference loss to UF, and losing for the 8th straight time.

Let me get this straight.

So coming off your best season in years, first chance to show the nation what you've built- and you get prison raped in the biggest game of opening freaking weekend...

That isn't nearly as bad as a conference loss to a higher ranked opponent after the worst stretch in your program's history?

Okie dokie.

I can only realistically see 1 win right now, out of the 6 you mentioned.

If I were laying out odds, I'd say we'll be favored against Vandy and KY. MSU and Mizzou, I'd say even odds. UGA and USC will be favored, but they are winnable. I don't know how the season will play out, but I'd say you're making a stretch with your assumptions.

We will still get 8 to 9 wins book it! Not ideal but there is still hope.. Neyland was incredible last night. It was a shame that we couldn't make the big catch or missed some assignments on D in the 3rd or 4th..we will be alright boys. gah it sucks but still we will find a way.. Go Vols!!

I agree this loss isn't as bad as everyone lets on. People need to face the fact that Florida has our number. Back in our "glory days" of the 90s did all those Florida losses ruin our season? I'm looking at this game as a huge lesson learned. We had that game plain and simple but I believe the success made us over confident and sorta cocky. It was like the players thought the game was over after the stuffed fake punt. They just assumed Florida was going to lay down after that but when they kept fighting back our guys laid down. The only real bad decision I seen from Dooley was punting on 4th and 1. That took all the wind out of our sails. IMO if he would've went for it and even if we didn't make it our guys would've still been pumped up because of the playing to win attitude. Instead, we purposely give it back to Florida and never really made a play on either side of the ball the rest of the game.

Getting crushed like a cockroach in the first 15 minutes of the game is what is known as an azz kicking.....but using your logic... This type of azz kicking is OK with recruits since its an out of conference azz kicking.... I get it now....thanks

It was hard for me to understand too Wally so don't be embarrassed

Let's wait til after the Bama game before we make comparisons. Bama might come in here and prison rape us as well. They may nail us harder than they did Michigan. Hopefully, we put up a good fight.

Not the comparison any one is making.

Sparty, do you believe recruits look at the accumilation of losses under Dooley, because I believe they do? I think a coaches w/l record is an important statistic for them. Lots of factors in recruiting, and I would agree one particular game is unlikely to sway a recruit, but when you look at Dooley's overall record, it is less than stellar.

If that was such a huge decision factor then Dooley would've never been able to sign a single top 50 class let alone top 25. I mean who would commit to a coach with a losing record from la tech with your reasoning?

It's a lot easier to sell an OOC loss to the #1 team in the nation, whom you don't play every year, versus trying to sell recruits about "The Relentless Pursuit of Bamboo Watering Excellence" and losing to a so-called rival for the 8th straight year. Especially after winning 11 games, winning your conference, being in a BCS bowl, and having a Heisman front runner. What does Dooley have to sell these kids after losing at home, the way he did to UF for the 8th straight time?? What can he sell them??

Dooley sold recruits on his plans for rebuilding an historic football program. He had that to sell at the time. Recruits overlooked his time at la tech because it was la tech. Now they have numbers they can see of his success at a big time football school. The rebuilding plan only gets harder to sell the longer he's here. Now recruits can see the product of his rebuilding. At this point, it's not looking good, but we still have the rest of this season, so let's hope he turns it around.

You'll need to ask Jim Cooper what he sold Buckeye recruits when Michigan was beating his azz all those years. Seems like he did a decent job recruiting...

Post of the night right there ^

Last night didn't help our recruiting IMO, but, we still have 9 games to make a case, hopefully 10. I don't think it impressed the recruits who were here, but if we get some key wins going forward, they'll keep an eye on us. We'll still have a shot at them. One game isn't going to make or break their decision(even tho it broke my heart). I do think our overall record at the end of the season will impact some recruits. This will be their chance to see if Dooley has started to right the ship. If he hasn't, I suspect some key recruits we could have had will go elsewhere.

There are a lot of ignorant fans calling for Dooley's head over one lose. The predicable play calling and the execusion of some of the plays causing us to go 3 out several times cost us the game. It's like CJC just can't make adjustments to the defense.
