Those Bashing Dooley

I have supported Dooley since day one. Thy abandoned the run and the wheels came off. That is on him. There is still a lot of football to be played, but he HAS to get a signature win for me to continue to support him.

This loss hurt. I thought we were the better team, but FL did it to us again. We knew Sal's defense would have some growing pains, and we saw it tonight. When we went one dimensional on offense, we made it easy on FL's D. I hope CDD and company can put this team back together to salvage this season.

Dooley has improved the team drastically.

Depth is still a big issue., especially on the D. The starters are SEC quality then the talent starts dropping off.

We need quality big time running back.

Bray has an attitude problem. He gave up late in the 3rd qtr last night. He did not look like the same person that played the first half. When the cameras zoomed in on him you could see the frustration on his face.

"We need a big time back"...?????....????

We got a BIG TIME PERFORMANCE from Neal last night. Had they not abandoned the run game when we WERE NOT EVEN LOSING THE GAME he would have had 100 yards against what I would consider an elite defense. I'm not gonna argue that we need an elite back, who doesn't? But when Chaney went into a shell and went all Purdue on us, what good would an elite back do? He would have stood on the sideline or been ignored just like the backs we had did last night. Going away from the run killed our offensive chemistry and took away our ability to pass. And I could be wrong, but I TRULY think going away from the run caused our D to get worn out late due to constant 3 and outs. Florida made adjustments by GOING AWAY FROM WHAT DIDN'T WORK. We made adjustments BY GOING AWAY FROM WHAT WAS WORKING. I don't understand why it's so hard for some to see this.

Was it Dooleys fault Bray couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight? Was it Dooleys fault Hunter and CP dropped passes? Was it Dooleys fault the D was gased cause our offense couldnt convert in the 2nd half? Our boys were off tonight and too many of you are just too F***in stupid to just support our guys and move on! The players did not execute and we lost!!

Theres a long way to go. Learn from it and move on. It pains me that so many Vol fans are F***in retards!

Flame away!!!!

the team is not strong willed as there coach is. this is the coaches fault. chaney is a horrible OC and dooley cannot motivate his players. it all rests on the coaches shoulders, right now would have to say they need to clean house and start all over. what does it matter we are a door mat anyway.

Unfortunately, our most highly regarded players weren't able to make the plays we needed.

Bray uncharacteristically, threw a pass 10 feet over the head of a wide open receiver, and failed to spot coverage on 2 interceptions. We dropped three easy 3rd down passes that ended posessions. The tight end ran a 3rd down route 1 yard short of the sticks. I'm not sure how those are considered coaching mistakes. I'm sure the receivers have been adequately coached to catch the ball. They also are aware of the necessity of getting to the first down marker. Quarterbacks have been taught to throw to the correct colored shirt. The plays obvously were good calls or the receivers wouldn't have been open.

Losing those 6 turns with the ball were devastating and kept the defense on the field way too long. Bray obviously had a tough night. His frustration was apparent. Might have had something to do with the above as well as the attempted one handed reception of a near perfect throw.

Florida is a talented team. We needed to make a few plays.

Bray is nowhere ready for the NFL but I will stick up for him: The game plan on offense, especially in the second half, was for Bray, Hunter and patterson to carry the team. For some reason we went one dimensional while the runing game was effective at keeping the defense honest. When we abandoned the run Frorida's D just started ting off on Bray. I don't think he was the problem tonight, I think it was 90% a coaching meltdown. Kinda reminds me of the Florida games in the 90's where the coaches expected Manning to carry the team.

Bray's problem is that he only has one throw, throwing it as hard as he can. There were a couple of throwing windows last night, that if he had any real type of touch in the 10-20 yard range, we get 30-40 yards on the play. Even the most famous gunslinger of all time, Brett Farve, had some touch on his passes when needed. Bray hasn't shown he can do that yet, and that's not a good thing.

i disagree the team is not improved drastically. it is still a 500 ball team that we have seen forever it seems like.

:bow2: Agree!!!!!!!!

Here's the bottom line, if you still think Dooley is the guy then you are part of the problem. That's as simple as it gets. If you can't see Dooley for what he is by now, you are beyond help.

This post should be stuck at the top of the board, just to get the posts on VN real again.

Offense had a 12 play 75 or 80 yd. 6 min drive to start the 3rd, I'd say that was focus.

So when is it fair to start blaming him?

We lost a lot of big recruits last night, only way to get those back is with a big name change in head coaching spot. Nobody wants to lose.

Out of all of this talk I've not seen anyone recognize the fact that this is a whole new coaching staff except for a couple of people. A whole new staff is expected to jell and be great out of the box? It's not like we replaced just one coach. Some of you people amaze me. We got beat by a better team. It's time to move on and get better.

I am ashamed of some of you "fans". Did you watch the same game I did? In the second half we came out ready to finish off Florida, but costly mistakes were the end of us. 3-5 plays cost us the game, not poor coaching and players giving up. As is the usual with the florida game we catch absolutely no breaks while the other team lives on good breaks.
This loss hurt me a lot, but I'm still a VFL. GBO

the added drama of quitting, firing, not going to give money anymore, blah, blah, is a necessity on VN.

Losing a game because the other team made plays while we made mistakes isn't possible anymore.

So when is it fair to start blaming him?

When he has the talent equal to or better than his opponent and he loses games. So far, only Ky game comes to mind. Our defense only has 2 or 3 players that would start on Fl team. Takes time to build from nothing to SEC champion. Another year we will be closer, but not with this dilusional fan base.

New coaching staff is on Dooley. They all bailed on him for a reason. We're finding out why now....

If Bobby Petrino becomes coach at Tennessee I am through. I would rather have any coach win or lose than one with no morals. WHAT IS THAT TELLING THE PLAYERS TO HIRE SOMEONE LIKE PETRINO!
His teams have lost three years in a row to florida, our biggest rival. He has never beaten a ranked team and loses the second half of every game he coaches. He hasn't had a winning season and moreover he has just shown he isn't a quality coach. Why are you defending mediocrity. Dude tried. He can't cut it in the sec. Thanks for getting our depth up. Have fun coaching Valdosta state. Bobby Petrino, welcome to Tennessee.

And 3-5 plays cost Georgia State the game last week. That's kinda how it works in the game of football. :ermm:

Hey CaptDoDo ... just for the record ... Gen Neyland inherited a team that had barely won 50% of their games prior to his being named head coach. Neyland went 8-1 his first year and 8-0-1 his second year and won the conference title. Hmmm ... I guess it is possible for a GREAT coach to turn a team around IMMEDIATELY ... just sayin'.
