Those Bashing Dooley

No, when people complain the loss, you continue to be condescending and telling them to stop whining like you are their momma or something. And you have continued to act like it's no big deal for the program, when it is.

An attention whore? Really? What are we, in sixth grade? How can someone be an attention whore on a message board? I would like to see said attention whoring. I don't like to whore myself out.

I know about football. Am I Nick Saban? Hell no. Obviously not. I've said I know more about basketball than football. And hey, at least I try to talk football, while you continue to provide nothing but your whiny, petulant complaining of people who don't agree with you. But hey, what can I say? I mean, that was beautiful genius you brought to the table when you told eric that if Dooley had won the game, instead of losing, our tune about him would have changed. I was overblown with creative genius with that post.

You are full of ****. I haven't even argued with anyone tonight, except your lying ass. And I've been around the game long enough to know when a loss stings, badly. I haven't told anyone to be happy with a loss, and I sure as hell am not happy about it. I haven't even posted anything tonight regarding the game or UT/DD future that anyone would argue with.

And the comment about a w vs an l was to show how ridiculous a fan base can be, 3 games into the year. You would have blogged that UT and DD are back with a win, and that would have been ridiculous as well. If you can't understand the point, I'm not surprised. 3rd game of the year doesn't make a season, with a win or loss. Pitiful that I have to explain it.

You tell yourself that.

I wouldn't have. Nor do I say the season is over. However, this game does lean to one particular side (and that's not a good side). If this team can't be a down Florida team, then there's not a good chance they can beat USCe, UGA, and Bama, especially with two of those on the road.

Oh, and you use the word "ass" too much when you name call. I need something with more substance, more creativity. I know you can do this.

The problem comes down to the fact that CDD's teams appear to have an
on/off" switch. They play well when the are on. But, show them the first bit of adversity against a good opponent, and they hit the off, crawl into a shell, quit, and never recover while the points pile up against it.

That is the biggest problem. CDD's teams just seam to lack the mental toughness that it takes to compete not just in this league, but in any league (and especially in this league). No other school in the SEC lays down like we do right now, and that is embarrassing.

And, to answer your question. Yes, that is CDD's responsibility and fault.

this is my first post on the volnation,I would like to start by saying something about myself,I'm 34 and have been a vol since I was 3,and prob b4 that can't remember,it was my older brothers fav team so it became mine.anyway I grew up playing backyard ball, playing in middle school, and some high school,I was just to small plenty mean though, filled out after highschool, anyway at 18 had to work and started traveling i've been to all the lower 48,some places in canada, mexico.and the only sport I followed in my adult life is college football.I mention this stuff to tell all you who says its just a game get over it this, not all the moments in my life when it came down to me being a vol was a norman rockwell painting,it wasnt easy being a vol when i didnt take my hat off in a lexington,ky bar,or told an alabama state trooper to just write the ticket,or when i told a man in Ga to spell Uga,or an oklahoma man to conferance up,and so on and so on,not to say ive not made friends in these places, but it is personal and dose matter to people. Now to the coaching staff mainly dooley,I dont want u booted out,but u need to look at Louisiana monroe b4 u start telling me all about what u dont have,u are the top dog its ur team ur men they look to u for leadership, not a friend, buddy, pal, cool guy,or whatever it is ur trying to be,man up stop being the patsy ur comeing off as,u need to be more of a no nonsence, straight foward, hard @$$,ur way or the highway kind of guy, this aw shucks stuff ur doin its not working, and duh wonder why,I think you have the ability, but we may never find out, hope u figure it out. Now the players wheres ur pride u hit the lotto by getting to play in the big time, and ever since u didnt get praise for the vandy game last year, and threw the KY game AND THATS WHAT YOU DID,all i see is a bunch of spoiled winey babies who started laying down as soon as u knew the game could be tied, you want respect then earn it,or leave, life is hard but b glad tennessee got you b4 the military did,ur life is a cake walk compared to most of us who live in the world of no free anything, your life should only be about very little sleep, eating,FOOTBALL,GRADES,you can do what you want when you leave Tennessee,i want you all to watch SC qb Shaw's game last week and play that hard every week, then when u lose it will and or should be respected..To the fans, you act like a bunch of sunday morning baptist, not knowing theres a sunday night or wednesday service,to be a real fan means u watched the florida/texas am game last week and saw the improvement/comback,and should have known that this game was goin to be a fight, they ranked us,and told us we were goin to win because they knew you would eat it up,this is the otherside of the game those ESPNers know your to stupid to understand,so because i know preaching to the fans is pointless,I would ask you to watch all the games of schools that will or may play us,that should even out your highs and lows, and if u go to the game and spend your hard earn money then make sure we own the stadium at all times all four quarters,it makes a huge differance HOME FEILD,your voice will heal by next saturday...thats my rant sorry for the grammer, punctuation, whatever else,i did this on the fly,and if ur thinking im not a fan my brother named his son Neyland....

And if he had won this game, your tune would be different, as would many others.

I agree..... Mental toughness is lacking..... Buck stops at the HEAD COACH...... That being said I do like CDD, but WINS are the bottom line........

Was it Dooleys fault Bray couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight? Was it Dooleys fault Hunter and CP dropped passes? Was it Dooleys fault the D was gased cause our offense couldnt convert in the 2nd half? Our boys were off tonight and too many of you are just too F***in stupid to just support our guys and move on! The players did not execute and we lost!!

Theres a long way to go. Learn from it and move on. It pains me that so many Vol fans are F***in retards!

Flame away!!!!

Not goin' to read the whole thread so maybe this has been pointed out, but it is Dooley's fault we have no run game. It's Dooley's fault that he kept Chaney when that offense will never work in the SEC. Pass first oriented offenses do not get the job done against SEC defenses. If You can't run, you can't keep their D on the field and tire them out. The gators running is what gassed our D.

And to use your own words, if you can't see that then you're just to f***in stupid to understand SEC football.
I like Dooley, think he's a quality guy, but he's not getting it done. He should have tabbed a new OC in the offseason that understands SEC football. You would think growing up in it, he'd know how SEC football works. After all, he witnessed Walker at UGA firsthand. And tonight's loss doesn't help us with recruits. How do you sell a program that really hasn't shown improvement since his arrival? We've still got the rest of the season to play and maybe, just maybe, things will get better, but you can't sell failure to bluechip recruits.

I agree with you about Chaney. Dooley probably would be fine if he had Chavis and Cutcliffe as coordinators. Imagine what Cutcliffe would do with Bray--turn him into another Manning.

oh, there's definitely a problem but firing Dooley is not the answer. At least not now.

Im not trying to pick on you but this logic is like buying a new car because the breaks are worn out on your current one.

Damn guys, do yall remember the roster 3 years ago?

No this is more like trading in a new car because you took it out on the highway and discovered it won't run over 65 even though its a nice looking car.

In all seriousness, there are bundles of evidence suggesting Dooley can't win big at this level. What evidence is there that he CAN win big here? Or do some of you just stick your head in the sand and believe everything will be ok? That mentality is what kept Fulmer on 3 years too long, and now look where we are.

I agree with your sentiment here but not your evidence. In fact you should have used Fulmer to prove your point just the opposite way. Fulmer deserved those three years to try to right the ship because he earned them with some huge wins. Dooley has earned nothing. Not one quality win.

**** Dooley.

To me bottom line is Wins and what counts and they play 6 teams that have a pulse{ sorry Akron and troy} and they will need to win at least 3 of them and thats my 2 cents

How come the OP brings up the roster being better now compared to when Dooley came, but isn't mentioning the results? The results we have yet to see that is. Instead he/she keeps moaning and whining like a lil bich.

Hey OP,
1) atleast 2-3 times we were in scoring range only to end the drive at or on the other side of the 50 due to penalties.
2) We can't kick an XP either.
3)Absolutely erratic play from the QB
4)dropped passes
5) RB has 23 carries for 87 yds by mid 3rd quarter. Coach sits on his hands while the OC attempts to try his old Purdue air attack resulting in 3 and outs. Why did Neal disappear for 3-4 series mid 3rd quarter? He was playing his tale off. OC abandoning run killing what rhythm the O did have. It was a tie game and we quit rushing the ball.
6)no pass rush
7)secondary blew balls.
8)halftime adjustments blew balls for 3rd straight year.
9)it's become protocol for Dooley's teams to flop in the second half.

All of these things lead To a lack of discipline which.....would fall directly on the HC.

The result was an EPIC beat down blow out that was an embarrassment to the fans, the program, the University, and the people of this great state.

On top of that, it was one of the biggest nights for official visits we've had in a while. and what a showing after retiring Majors' jersey. The stage was set for this program to take a MASIVE leap forward. In reality, we simply saw that the more things change the more they stay the same.

Dooley is not a winner. He has no football identity. After 3 years, we know nothing about this man's football philosophy. We arent even doing the 2 TE thing he wanted to do consistently. He goes by whatever his coordinators say or do. He isnt a "defensive" or "offensive" minded coach. He is more of a task manager. What has any player said that Dooley helped them on football wise? Dooley is a good guy from what I can tell but good guy does not mean good football coach nor right football coach to lead us to championships.

Here's the bottom line, if you still think Dooley is the guy then you are part of the problem. That's as simple as it gets. If you can't see Dooley for what he is by now, you are beyond help.

Glad that you admit your a f***in retard champ...ANYONE that can admit support for Dooley at this point needs to be committed...Now STFU and go to bed.

No flame needed.

He's recruited the majority of the roster here, he's hired the majority of the coaches here, he's 0-11 against ranked teams here at UT, and he's not beat a SEC team with league record at or above .500.

Those are facts, and the sooner people understand that the buck stops with him, the sooner people will understand that he has no clue how to build an SEC winner.

Also, what I once considered his main source of life support, Tyler Bray, proved to me tonight that he's not ready for the NFL. Bray hasn't beat anyone of any significance, and looks pedestrian at best against higher level SEC defenses. Nothing showed me that he can do it at a higher level tonight.

Bray is nowhere ready for the NFL but I will stick up for him: The game plan on offense, especially in the second half, was for Bray, Hunter and patterson to carry the team. For some reason we went one dimensional while the runing game was effective at keeping the defense honest. When we abandoned the run Frorida's D just started ting off on Bray. I don't think he was the problem tonight, I think it was 90% a coaching meltdown. Kinda reminds me of the Florida games in the 90's where the coaches expected Manning to carry the team.

This sums it up, particularly #5. Abandoning the run in a tie game was the dumbist thing I saw all night. This game might as well have been the nation championship considering the past 4 years and Dooley didn't show up. This was his crossroads and he went the wrong way.

This.

Dooley has improved the team drastically.

Depth is still a big issue., especially on the D. The starters are SEC quality then the talent starts dropping off.

We need quality big time running back.

Bray has an attitude problem. He gave up late in the 3rd qtr last night. He did not look like the same person that played the first half. When the cameras zoomed in on him you could see the frustration on his face.

How do you know this is a down FL? The two games I've seen them play were pretty impressive. just because they dont throw it all over the field like they used to doesn't mean they're down.

Agree.

My questions?....does Chaney actually call the plays? Is he on the sidelines or in the booth. Seems to me for a no huddle system, he must be close to the action.

Nevertheless....I think he is the next one to be replaced (even this year()...Not Dooley.
