Those Bashing Dooley

So you don't think the talent level is better then it was 3 years ago? I know many on here aren't smart enough to see past the W/L record so think hard.

Absolutely more talent now, Dooley has done a good job with the roster but hasn't proven he can out coach comparable talent. And we aren't going to out talent the top half of the SEC.

I really don't care whether you like me or care about my opinion or not, but when is enough enough?? Sports are about winning and losing, and that's what coaches are measured on, period. Dooley had the best team he's had in 3 years, and he can't even come as close as he did to beating UF, as he did last year. We had every weapon at our disposal, that people whined about losing last year, yet we couldn't get it done at home. I talked with multiple people up there, and they are fed up with showing up to support the team, and getting fed crap for entertainment. When does it end, or are we going to try redefining the definition of insanity with Dooley??

Eric, I love this, this is exactly the problem with our fan base and many others. I bet you also wonder why your life gets no better no matter who is president.

People who vote, and believe change will come with that vote, and just as insane as the people who believe Dooley will ever turn the corner.

Yeah, it can't be the disparity in talent, right? That doesn't get fixed overnight...

Here is a little something to chew on:
Rivals Recruiting Rankings

YEAR.....UT.....UF
2012.....17.....03
2011.....13.....12
2010.....09.....02
2009.....10.....11
2008.....35.....03
2007.....03.....01

And we all know about the famous attrition from at least one of our classes (09). So, far all of the people who say we are the "more talented team" (and until tonight, I was one of them), where did our talent come from? Looking back, it doesn't seem possible that we could be the more talented team, does it? The only way to win, then, would have been to out execute and out scheme...in other words, play the perfect game while hoping they make mistakes. The Stanford/USC game tonight is a good example of how to beat a more talented team, but it still takes DEEP talent, and confidence. We are still lacking both...

Excellent info and points my friend.

FACT is that floriDUHHHH does have 4* and 5* talent starting all over the field and many more 4* and 5* players on the bench getting knowledge and experience as fast as they can.

FACT is that this is only the 3rd game in year 3 of the CDD era and he only has 2 recruiting classes of his own and they're just now only Sophs and Freshmen just now gewtting stronger, more knowledgable and trying to get a little experience as we go along this season.

FACT is that we simply do NOT have SEC type talent at every position yet and we certainly don't have the depth with the knowledge and experience to compete against good SEC teams yet.

FACT is that we're also low on money and we'll stay low on money for at least another few years so we simply do NOT have the $$$ for another coaching buyout for at least another 1 to 2 years...even then we won't have the kind of money to throw at another coach like alaBumma threw at nick saTan so WHO will we hire?

What good, proven coach will risk their career to come to Tennessee for less that being close to nick saTan type money?

What good, proven coach will risk their career to come to UT and have to put up with silly fans that are clueless as to how long it takes to totally rebuild the entire program and expect championships instantly?

When CDD took on this rebuilding challenge every smart, knowledgable person that actually knows anything about rebuilding a college football program knew this was a 4 to 5 year task yet here we are only in the 3rd game of year 3 and silly people want the head of CDD on a platter and to start all over again and set us back at least another 4 to 5 years which is just silly at this point.

Coaching is NOT like your job where instant performance is demanded or you go job hunting again.

Reality of this entire situation simply is beyond most people that frequent this site alot.

I hate this loss and I'm sick to my stomach too but I don't want our program set back another 5 years or longer based on less time than smart people knew this rebuilding was going to take and knee jerk reactions based on emotions right after a loss are most always wrong.

VFL...GBO!!!

8 years in a row, and he couldn't even get as close as he did with a lesser roster, according to most. We lost by 10 last year, and had -11 rushing yards.

When we have the talent and the DEPTH the wins against the top SEC teams will come.

I think we have 22 that can go toe to toe with anyone. (Here's a tip for those who cant see past the W/L record: WE DIDNT HAVE THAT 3 YEARS AGO).

If we put together a couple more good recruiting classes we will be there.

If we fire Dooley know we start over!!

Recruiting a bunch of three stars isn't going to fix the talent gap.

Was it Dooleys fault Bray couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight? Was it Dooleys fault Hunter and CP dropped passes? Was it Dooleys fault the D was gased cause our offense couldnt convert in the 2nd half? Our boys were off tonight and too many of you are just too F***in stupid to just support our guys and move on! The players did not execute and we lost!!

Theres a long way to go. Learn from it and move on. It pains me that so many Vol fans are F***in retards!

Flame away!!!!

Whose fault is it that this team has no discipline? Motion, false starts and personal fouls. OC that hits the panic button and airs everything out at the first hint of trouble. General lack of composure. How many years will we have to go without a FG kicker? All of these things fall on Dooley's shoulders...no excuses...

Yeah, cause the middle to lower of the tier SEC recruiting classes he is hauling in, will soon over take the top of the East.

Look, you're and optimist, and that's fine, but if the optimist can't see past their own wants and needs, they will never see the real truth of a situation, no matter how grim or bad it really is.

I'm sorry but Dooley needs to go, I've supported him because I love TN football. But this dude clearly CAN NOT make 2nd half adjustments. Florida made the proper adjustments after the half and they shut us out.

Haha, exactly what I expected and exactly why your opinion means nothing to me. Its a shame our founding fathers didn't account for people like you.

But this is a message board and all contributions are welcome.

Good argument. Attack the person and not his point. Solid.

He disagrees with you, so he must not understand the game.

I understand football perfectly well and let me tell you something. All you had to do was watch the players' body language to tell that they did not know what was going on or what to do once things went bad. A team, in crunch time, takes after its coach. Teams with good coaches stay cool. Teams with bad coaches don't. We have a bad coach.

Then go cheer for someone who you think has one!

The university needs to just pay what ever it takes. Nick freaking Saben turned Alabama around in no time. And he just keeps reloading.

My thought is that there are reasonable excuses when you don't have talent depth and experience. Therefore I will give Dooley a pass for all of his losses over the past two years with the exception of Kentucky last year. However this year those excuses aren't valid. In all honesty this was a toss up game as we were a 3 point favorite because we were the home team. We got whipped. I like Dooley but his job is to win games and he hasn't proven he can do that. If we don't win 2 of 4 against Georgia Bama S Carolina and Missouri then why do we need him? There's a thousand guys that could go 7-5 and not beat anybody.

Wow, there's almost no answer for this kind of idiocy. Tiny will settle in, and how dare Dooley recruit the #1 kicker coming out of high school. He should have known he would be a head case. Who ever heard of a kicker being a head case?

And if he had won this game, your tune would be different, as would many others.
That's the ridiculous part.

Duh!!!! No sh!tt sherlock!!!!!! If we had won the NC last year I think things would be better on this board. (sarcasm)

So DD is the savior if we won this one game tonight, but he needs to go because we lost, according to you and others.

In the 3rd game of the year. Pitiful that it has to be explained how ridiculous that is.

Well, if UT had won, we would have at least seen some evidence he can coach.

Instead, we watched Will Muschamp and staff outcoach Dooley and staff.

There was a time Eric when you knew a little something about recruiting. Do you not know the recruits that were here tonight and do you not think that they could make a difference on this team?

I hope they can overlook a whiney fanbase and realize that they can help bring the big orange back!

I'm sure they are dying to come here after that performance.
