One TOUGH place to play. The Vols are one of 2 SEC teams, Florida being the other, that are undefeated at home this season. That is an accomplishment and something to be proud of as Tennessee fans.

GO VOLS!!!!

There needs to be more of a home-field advantage in college football than what already exist. In ncaa basketball, home games are an automatic win for the home team. But I have to say that its easier for a ref to call a foul on every play than it is for a ref to throw a flag every down.

if the fans would actually show up to the arena and get loud it'd be even better.

17,000 is a great attendance, it just looks like crap when you have the biggest on campus basketball facility in the country.
you cant tell me there were 17k. The place was empty and like a church, nothing going on and silent. I'd say around 11,000.

? it wasn't "silent"...it was loud...at times. but silent is not the word i would use.

it was no cameron crazy or anything...but it didn't sound or look that bad.

Ok, I know what 17k looks like
Obviously not.

8K empty seats looks like a lot in a 25K seat arena, yeah, but that doesn't change the undeniable fact that there was 17K+ people there. I'm not sure what they gain from lying about their attendance figures, but if they were going to do that why wouldn't they claim it was sold out, or just a few hundred seats short?

So, they're saying that roughly 1/3 of the seats were empty? That sounds about right.

i hate to stand up for blaker, but they could've easily said 17k counting tickets they gave away to people who never even dreamed of showing up, the athletic dept probably had a lot of tickets that were counted as "sold" that were never used, not to mention people who probably bought tickets or were given tickets that never showed. obviously i wasn't there and I couldn't tell on tv what it looked like honestly, but the figure could easily be smudged in the ballpark of 3k more than were actually there.

Rain Man here seems to disagree with the official attendance total brought to you by people that were counting folks at the door, so apparently it was over 50% empty.

In what you saw on TV, would you say it was only 40% full, as blaker suggests?

i would guess 15k honestly. 15k on a cold tuesday night is very good IMO. there's no reason UT should be playing in a 24k+ arena. cameron gets so "crazy" because it seats around 9k i believe and they are on top of the floor and each other. i doubt a packed house at TBA could ever be as intense as cameron
