New head coach
New offense and defensive scheme
Hardest schedule in the FBS
no depth
Complete culture change from previous staff

With that said, it’s a tough loss but I like Pruitt and the way he has our guys fighting. He’s still learning to be a head coach. I think we see this team take a giant step forward next year

They also played in a tough venue tonight. Had some penalties that set us back at crucial times. I would also think South Carolina got away with some holds but I am sure we did too. It was a tough loss. Some of the people downing the coaches will be happy we have them soon. The coaches know how to prepare for teams weakness.

I'm really pulling for Pruitt to be the right guy to lead the team back to some degree of prominence. Outside the Auburn game it's been an enormously frustrating season. Tonight is a wonderful example of that.

Meanwhile Mike Leach, a proven head coach who agreed to take the job before Fulmer nixed the deal just won another huge game to improve to 7-1. Hope Fulmer knew what he was doing.

You know that John Currie is somewhere laughing his ass off, right?

I agree but think we didn’t have answers for their running game which obviously set us up for the long ball....so I think Pruitt didn’t have his best D plan this week. Pruitt said it was about 9 penalties and mistakes on covering folks and tackling, but also substitution penalties which are on the coaches.

Absolutely. Our worse plan on defense to date. Those sub penalties looks bad on the staff but I guess it is a learning curve for the whole team. Just hope people show a little patience with them. I think this team is laying harder hits on folks than I have seen in years so maybe other things will start to fall into place. The defensive line has given me hope at times. I still think we are weak on the second level which will improve in a year or so.

When your HC comments on how small your team is, how he only has a few guys that execute correctly and that he promises to bring in guys that will do it right, that should tell you all you need to know.

This season to me was a mulligan for Pruitt. But it still sucks.

Is he looking for system guys? Or is he looking for the highest ranked guys? Any idea?

I really dont know. I just hope whatever it is, he gets the players he needs and gets it rolling. I feel confident that whatever system it is, it will be effective in the SEC.
I know he wants an aggressive D with emphasis on the LBs. Other than that, i dont know either.
So, we have to wait for him to get his guys for his system but we dont really know what that system is or what those dudes look like.

I still have not come to grips with the fact that I really don't get mad when we lose this year. I have come to expect mediocrity. Not accept, but expect it. We are just not good.

JG is 4-11 as a starting QB (1-10 vs SEC). It’s a team effort, but that’s a horrible stat that looks like it will only get worse unless there’s a dramatic turnaround
