This woeful offense will be lucky to even score a single point against Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn. In fact, we may not even cross the 50 yard line against those teams.

I've never seen a Tennessee team have such weak players on the line of scrimmage. We look like a Ohio Valley Conference team on the OL. What Butch did to this program with the lack of strength and conditioning program is practically criminal !!!

I don't know about criminal, but, it's definitely a misdemeanor. It's always difficult to win in the SEC and we don't have enough talent to compete at a high level. I hope the team can grind through it and remain positive.

Drew Richmond, everyone who attempted to play guard, and Johnson are flat out atrocious. I don't blame Johnson though because he is out of position. Richmond on the other hand must have been rated coming out of high school by his parents because if he is a 5* then so is every other position player on the team. If you have that kind of supposed talent, then there is no excuse to continue to perform like a high school band member.

When we play UGA, I honestly wouldn't even bother to run. It'll be a wasted down. I'd throw 70 times. All shotgun, some max protect. Screens, slants whatever gets the ball out quickly.

Don"t have to be ridin a cycle to see a bad Oline when you see it. Only bright spot is Trey Smith. Hope they don't dray him down to their level

Even though our OL is sup par, I think we have a stable full of skilled players. Why can we not run a quick pass offense and use the pass to set up the run. Our backs can catch the ball well out of the backfield and our receiving corp is second to none. How good does the OL need to be to run the offense like that?

Did you guys watch last years offense? The OL isn’t good, but JG looks significantly better, there are multiple capable backs, Palmer catches the ball now, and DWA is a threat. There are definitely problems with this team, so let’s focus on those instead of complaining about every single aspect of the team. The team rushed for nearly 350 yards today with a subpar OL

I feel by now the staff should have a good understanding of who we are on offense heading into Florida. We are obviously weak at O-Line and it is what it is. We tried rotating some of the guys around, but the talent and strength just quite isn't there. Now, we need to scheme and strategize around this.

Keep Wood Anderson in to help block...as well as a RB (London?) to help chip, quick throws, more screens, more catches out of the backfield for the RB, designed QB runs, bootlegs, more "I" formation in the running game, etc...All this to say, there is plenty of things that we can do to work around our O-Line and tire out the defensive front.

In the end, we can't just let JG be a sitting duck in the backfield and be too stubborn to change things up. That's something the last coaching staff had a problem with...Fortunately, I have more confidence that Pruitt will admit the weakness in his O-Line and make adjustments around it...

UT ran the ball 50 times and passed 19 times vs UTEP. They were working on the run game and OL. They'll coach them up and start to refine what might work vs better opponents. I still think the RG needs to be changed but they know more about what those guys are doing than we do.

I suspect today they were working on things they know they don't do well on O. I think they're evaluating OL's. IMHO, they'll settle into what they do best this week. We will see more run/pass balance.

UTEP's longest drive was 6 plays for 29 yards. That was the first one. UT allowed UTEP only 134 yds of total O. That's solid no matter who the opponent is.

You can’t run a balanced offense if your O-Line gets pushed back 3-4 yds by the opposing defense.

Trust me, I’m sure Helton would love to open up the play book more if he knew he could trust the O-Line protecting JG.

Either they improve when SEC play hits or continue to get pushed around like little kids.

I think that we have the tools to be pretty good at passing and rushing. We had plenty of yardage today, just couldnt score. I think once they get a handle on playcalling as well as fixing the mental mistakes and get some halfway consistent blocking, we'll be able to open it up more. I dont take todays game very serious because i think that Pruitt has really been using the past two games to try different scenarios and different players out. That explains the odd substitutions and play calling. While it knocks our starters out of rhythm, it gives them a more controlled setting than an SEC game to see what they can do. If he leaves the starters in next week and opens up the playbook, we can have a pretty decent day. I also think JG, our recievers, and runningbacks are very talented and they could be difference makers down the line.

Also, dug around and did some research, and seen where Peytons freshman stats (on a much better team) were very similar to JGs. While this doesn't mean that JG is automatically going to be great, it just means we can still hope and he might be pretty good by the end of the year. Yeah we were so bad we only put up 500+ yards of Offense and not a 1,000. 🙄
