This week sucks

You lose a bet or something?
No. I am a guest on your board so I act accordingly. This is how I honestly feel as well. You won't find a bigger Gator fan, nor one who is not a sore loser or a classless winner. If you win, I will be back here and congratulate you. If you lose, I will be here to discuss the game and not troll or rub anything in. That's not my style. I enjoy the sport too much. Plus, I'm also on sports talk radio in Clemson, so if I act like a jerk, I'm sure you guys would call in and make the show look bad.

I had to hurry it up. I'm troubleshooting an issue at work so I didn't get to say everything I wanted to.

Can anyone break down your WR's for me?

WR's are decent, but young. Our best wr in still jones, but he has been injured. He was back last week, but wasn't a factor. Hancock has seemed to be the go to guy this year. Last week he dropped a pass he should of caught. Moore was the guy last year who could catch it deep. Had a dropped pass last week. Warren is probably going to end up being a big time receiver for us. He was productive against WKY, but wasn't a factor really against UCLA. The rest of the WR's are young. The best young reciever we have is Teague. He's probably going to be a play maker, but still, he's a frosh, and will probably be feeling the pressure at the swamp.

Teague is a corner, right? Did you mean Nukeese Richardson?

No, I know he was recruited for corner, but he's a starting wr for us right now. He's made some good catches too, to never have played receiver before in his life.
Interesting. I know both signed to UT for immediate playing time. Glad everything is working out for him. What do you think about NuKeese so far?

I think he'll be good. Hasn't been real productive yet, but hopefully as the year progresses, he'll find his grove. He's fumbled some punts, and I'm not sure, but I don't think he's caught a pass all year.

I'm sure he'll have some packages against us. I think he is amped to play us because of the decommitment, etc.

I am involved in so much in work this week, and I am extremely lucky I didn't have to travel to Toronto or Seattle. I dodged two bullets. Anyways...

This game scares the daylights out of me from a Gator perspective. There are still so many unknowns on your team that I can't get a good feeling. Your defense is outstanding, and I am afraid we are scheming too much for the run and not the pass (albeit I not put my trust in Urban as he has proven himself to be a hell of a game day coach). JC isn't as bad as some of you make him out to be. He is easily rattled, so if your OL can protect him and you guys can run on our D, we will be in for a long night.

I don't believe the spread whatsoever. This will be a very close game. There is too much talent on your team this year for a blowout.

I wish all of you traveling to Gainesville a very safe trip. I hope that we all behave in a civil manner to each other since we have a special rivalry. Again, I want to extend an invitation to any Vols in the upstate of South Carolina to meet with the Upstate Gator Club to watch the game at the American Pie Factory off of Pelham Road in Greenville, SC. If you can, PM me so I can try and reserve some seating for you.

Best of luck and safe travels.

thanks

I wouldn't be too worried though. You guys should win, but you never can tell what will happen.

I am just hoping for a somewhat competitive game.

If Crompton somehow manages to show up for the game then all bets are off. There may be a 20% chance of that happening at best.

A classy gator besides NC? My belief system is in shambles.

Nice post. Wish I had dodged the bullet, but at least the Minnesota weather is fantastic!!

You left out the "Pee Balloon Factor". Or is that poo balloon? Golly, I keep getting those things confused. How do you put poo in a balloon, anyway?
Be careful...you get confused in that arena and you'll end up shaking a turd and wiping your pecker. I don't even want to think what that kind of confusion could do to a marriage.

I have some offtime...so here are my thoughts on the position battle. Feel free to argue, debate, or agree. Hopefully some good discussion will come of this:

I'll start with Crompton and UT WR's vs. our secondary.
- Crompton will have to play a lights out game... really anybody will. the DB's start with a good Linebacker corp and we have arguably the best LB's in the country with Brandon Spikes anchoring. We have good cover corners. Yes, we gave up 200 yards in the first half against CSU, but keep in mind that we played only 2 defensive schemes without two of our playmakers (Janoris Jenkins and Lawrence Marsh (I think)). Any long balls will be answered by Major Wright who is a hard hitter. I dont know too much about your WR's, so can someone please make a small post here to tell me about them? Crompton will have to make good decisions. To do that, he needs time to throw. Play Action is a must for him to be successful. A few rollouts will keep our defense guessing. I'm going to give a medium edge to Florida.

UT OL and RB's vs our DL - I think our DL is not getting as much respect as they should be... but when you play 2 cupcakes, that will happen. You have some studs on OL, but I believe your depth is low. Your center needs to play lights out for Crompton's sake. He is taking pain shots and is a bit dinged up already. You have two monster RB's in Hardesty and Brown. If they can be successful (which I'm afraid they might be), then it will open up a lot for your offense. I'm going to call this even right now, maybe a slight edge to UT.

Tebow and WR's vs. UT secondary - #1 is a beast. Plain and simple. Berry needs to be accounted for for every play. (off topic, will he be used in a WildVol formation?) Your defense scares me. Playmakers at every position with an NFL hall of famer coaching them up. Tebow will need to recognize what's going on to make plays. If Kiffin Sr. blitzes a lot, then hopefully we can utilize Hernandez and the option. If you play in a Tampa 2, then hopefully Tebow will have time to make something happen. We'll see. Thompson had too many dropped passes against CSU. Keep a watch on Omarius Hines. He is a scrapper at WR. In the end, I am calling a slight edge to UT if not even.

UF OL & RB's vs. UT DL - How is your D-line depth? Last I heard, it was kind of thin. Can someone post something about your D-line as well? If so, this may be a cause of concern. We have 3 good RB's. Moody is the bruiser and Demps/Rainey are like lightning. I want to see Moody between the tackles and Demps/Rainey used as option backs. That would work best against your DL, imo. Don't worry, because that won't happen. Demps has breakaway speed, so if he can get into open space he is probably gone. Pending some insight, I am calling this a major advantage to UF.

Coaching - Obviously with Meyer winning 2 out of the last 3 National Titles, I give the coaching advantage to him. I don't think either of us have seen enough of your current coaching staff to make a good evaluation, right?

Intangibles - The Swamp. 'nuff said...sort of. With Kiffin Jr. getting you fans riled up, he ticked off Meyer and the team. On the flip side, revenge will be a factor for you guys. Plus with little to no pressure on you guys, you will be playing loose from the beginning (unless there's some big play to swing momentum). I am calling this even.

SO...thoughts?
Long night at a corporate awards ceremony that I had to host. Although wasted tired, I did read the whole thing. That being said I can only work up enough energy for two thoughts.
1--- The D line has surprised with it's depth and they flat bring it on every play. There will be plenty of depth for a solid rotation
2--Crompton 's fakes on play action are pityful. He doesn't sell it and then locks immediately onto the reciever that he has in his mind to pass to. There is NO IQ to follow a progression. It's just not in his skill set

I like the fans and tradition of Tennessee. Between both our schools, we have the best fans, traditions and really make the SEC what it is. I'm sure some will disagree with some of my fanbase, but it's all in good fun. I think I can say Tennessee is my 2nd favorite team.

Rivalry games tend to bring out the best in even the worst of players (not saying Crompton is bad). He'll give 150% on Saturday, so we'll see how C-Diddy does.

See now that's what scares me, if he comes out thinking he has to win the game we could be starring at 6 int's instead of just 3!!!

you should stick around even after this game...of all the gators that have shown up this week you are BY FAR the most respectful, it is appreciated.

Since I started sports radio, I think I might. Plus, it'd be good if I could get a hold of someone within the UT sports office for a radio interview. I'd be in heaven if I could ever get Kiffin on air.

I'm already expecting a HUGE loss, but I would be extremely happy if we lost by 7 or less.

I think you'll agree that what makes this game so exciting is that there is so much uncertainty on both sides. UT could very well pull the upset.
