This was a Good Loss

12 years ago we were the champs. Also I know from playing, when you get embarrassed (like our team was late yesterday) you never want that to happen again. A young team has to be taught hard lessons. We'll be good next year just watch. The O-Line will be the best unit on our team come 2011. Being impatient will get us no where.

What exactly are we being patient for?

whoever says any loss was a good loss needs to go to the doctor and start getting their government checks in the mail. i dont care how bad we look on paper, i go into every game hoping for a win. and when you allow 35 unanswered points, how could that possibly be a good win? good learning experience and reality check....yes.

We allowed 45 unanswered points.

There's no such thing as a "good loss." You can learn from it yes, but no way in hell is losing a good thing. Ever.

After watching this game again, this was a good lose for our team. They know what they can do. But they also learned what happens when you don't play like you're supposed to. The mental lapses that caused us this game will be great for the growth of this team.
I have a feeling this team is going to learn a lot this season. :ermm:

My post could be viewed as an IQ test. Lots of average and below in the thread.

Laughable. You made an attempt at humor at the expense of another posters misspelling.

You've already shown your iq with your rant on Hunter's genitals.

A good loss no, but this will be a good lesson for years to come. Our team will take their lumps this year. What has me excited is that while right now, youth, depth, and inexperience is our weakness ... In 2011 and beyond we will be very experienced, have better depth, and be mature... which in turn will be huge especially with the big uglies on the lines.

I'm going back and forth about whether this primetime nationally televised game on ESPN2 was, a team that can play with the best for a half & needs to learn not to make mental mistake & stay the course, or a sheer embarrassment that recruits will laugh at.

One comment on the refs. No, they did not "cost us the game." However, that personal foul was BS, & led to the go-ahead UO touchdown, & I think they missed a pass interference that would have been a TD, or led to the continuance of our drive that may have led to points, IIRC (I was pretty despondent a this point in the game when that last penalty happened.)

This was a good loss.

Yet another nationally televised highlight reel and Heisman Campaign for a Pac-10 team at our expense.
