John Currie does not go to the toilet or blow his nose without Big Jim Haslam's approval. Yeah, Fulmer was hurt after being fired, but wouldn't you or I have been, as well? Well, history has shown that he has swept that under the rug and has worked very hard with UT as a goodwill ambassador to improve the football program and the image of UT overall. Therefore, I do not believe for a moment that he had anything at all to do with messing up the search for a "great" coach. There has been much talk that John Currie refuses to listen to Fulmer or Manning, but only to the big-time boosters like Haslam and Peterson...
mainly Big Jim Haslam. Haslam and Peterson are the ones who forced Hamilton to fire Fulmer and hire Kiffin. They're the ones who approved the hire of Dooley, and they rubber-stamped the hiring of Jones by Dave Hart. Therein lies the problem, look no further.
