To try to bring to UT a mediocre coach with the stench of the Penn St scandal (warranted or not) is a terrible betrayal and error in judgement. With all the other coaches out there why even go here? Whoever does that does not love UT or feel pride for UT.

The Haslams should be barred from Tennessee going forward. They don't need to be making any decisions in regard to athletics and their track record is proof of this.

If they really did have something to do with this debacle, the Haslams should be shuned within the state. Personae non grata. Take your ball and go to Cleveland......and stay there. And keep ruining the Browns.

I'm not sure if it's the Haslam's or the Chancellor. It may even be Phil still butthurt over getting fired but it seems like someone has the agenda of destroying the Tennessee football program and has done everything possible to bring about the end of our storied VOLS! Whomever it I needs to be ferreted out and completely banned from the Hill!!!

John Currie does not go to the toilet or blow his nose without Big Jim Haslam's approval. Yeah, Fulmer was hurt after being fired, but wouldn't you or I have been, as well? Well, history has shown that he has swept that under the rug and has worked very hard with UT as a goodwill ambassador to improve the football program and the image of UT overall. Therefore, I do not believe for a moment that he had anything at all to do with messing up the search for a "great" coach. There has been much talk that John Currie refuses to listen to Fulmer or Manning, but only to the big-time boosters like Haslam and Peterson... mainly Big Jim Haslam. Haslam and Peterson are the ones who forced Hamilton to fire Fulmer and hire Kiffin. They're the ones who approved the hire of Dooley, and they rubber-stamped the hiring of Jones by Dave Hart. Therein lies the problem, look no further.

If anyone even suspects Phil, they know nothing of how orange that man's blood runs.

I do agree with you.. It just seems SOMEONE is purposely trying to destroy the program and WHOMEVER that is must go!!!!

This is the point in time to stop tinkering around the edges and fix the problem at its root.

Cut ties with the following:
Haslam
DiPietro
Davenport
Curry

Until you make the deep cut, the cancer will continue to metastasize.

I'm genuinely confused: Why fire Butch to hire Schiano? Seems like just as bad if not worse of a coach but with far worse recruiting ability due to the baggage of Penn St. Just really confused at this...

:rock:Numerous reliable sources have stated that Fulmer was totally left out of the selection of Schiano by UT AD Currie, Fulmer may be ultimately selected as the coach to restore the UT football program. By adding Tee Martin as OC it could be done.

I want to be clear.... I LOVE Fulmer! Would love to have him back! I was not accusing him of wrecking program... but with all the moves since he left..... barring the HIRING of Kiffin..... there has not been a smart move by ANYONE connected to the UTAD... so it seems like someone connected has an ax to grind. Just brought up as reference that he could be harboring ill will, which under the circumstances TOTALLY understand. He was done a complete injustice!!
