It is now only a three game stretch, and the team didn't have any more injury setbacks. Beat Georgia, and the East will be won. There is no way that Florida will not lose another game. (Probably Arkansas)

Florida can very easily lose to LSU as well. Florida really isn't that good.

Well, even in some strange scenario where it came down to a tie (not likely), Vols win based on the head to head.

SEC Divisional Tie-Breaker

So.. yeah.. :thud:

They're all important but to me the one game that gives us the most insurance is a W over TAMU or Alabama. We win one of those we should be all but guaranteed a trip to Atlanta. Beat UGA first of course.

Don't sleep on that Missouri game either. They're much improved offensively from last year.

Neither is LSU. And Arkansas is either not as good as I thought or TAMU is waaaay better than I thought. UF could lose another SEC game, but to ensure we win the East we need to win 2 of the next 3...

...ah, hell, let's just win them all.

So if we finish 10-2 and are undefeated in the East but UF finishes 11-1 with a loss to us who wins the East? Is it the VOLS because we have the better divisional record/win over UF or UF because of the better overall record in SEC play?

Take care of business against Georgia. I truly believe we will give Bama all they can handle. Neyland will be a mad house.

TAMU is the one game I really can't gauge. We have never faired well against mobile quarterbacks, and Chavis has greatly improved their defense. Could very well be a shootout with two mobile quarterbacks. I'd say we are slight underdogs in that game.

If we can go 3-1 in the stretch, or even 2-2 (I think Florida will drop at least two more SEC games), we will be back in Atlanta. It has been so long since we've controlled our own destiny in the East. It is a fine feeling.

Damn fine feeling.

Overall SEC record is the ONLY record. Head to head will break a tie, but there is no "east record."

Close. It's essentially 1) beat UGA and then 2) beat Missouri if the Tigers beat either LSU or UF.

That's about it though.

yeah, kinda feelin lsu could beat them. who knows. I know we're gonna need another big showing from the DLine this week. The DTs have to shut the run down early. I feel that Chubb vs Mcdowell is going to be interesting.
I also think we match up better vs Bama at home than A&M on the road.

A&M playing good now. I love the VOLS, but I'd be happy with 1-1 coming out of the A&M and Bama games.

We need to be down by 20 at half in those games if we have want a chance.

Our entire season will boil down to these next 2 weeks. If we can win the next 2 we have a realistic shot at winning this conference and making the playoffs.

We HAVE to improve our gameplay for this to happen though. The way we have played in the first 3.5 games this season won't cut it.
