This team will make the SECCG...

I wouldn't say we'll be "lucky" to be over .500 this coming year, but 6-6 won't surprise me. We play 6 teams that we should definitely beat, and 6 that are significantly better than us. We might shock one of those teams and get to 7-5, but that's about the best case scenario IMO.

I don't think every SEC team we play, with the exception of Kentucky and Vandy, are "significantly" better than us.

i'll play the pro and con with this.

pro- tennessee's offense will be able to put up points. there is no daunting non-conference opponent to deal with. the team feeds off of a win against florida, which would be the most significant win tennessee has had since beating georgia in 2007. tennessee's defense is good enough to help let the offense win games. confidence from getting a meaningful win filters through the team and they play at an inspired level throughout the rest of the season......carrying them to atlanta

con- volsheimer's disease has broken out again. beating up on the chump of the weak in november has brought forth false optimism. there may be an "o" in vols, but there is no "d". the offense, while improved, isn't the juggernaut most had hoped for when playing against non-vandy like competition. the defense is not one that you want to take on the road or anywhere else for that matter. losses to florida and georgia early, don't give a team much confidence when facing the stronger south carolina, lsu, and alabama that come later.

I just don't think our defense will be able to keep us in games where we don't play well offensively. I think we win 7 or 8, but to be a dominate team in the SEC again we will have to get better on defense.

C'mon fellas... surely people aren't THAT high on Bray after seeing him play closer against the weak November schedule?

Let's see the guy play against some decent squads (and not lose the game for us.. cough UNC cough) before we anoint him the next coming of Clausen, Manning, or Kelly.

Everyone seems to like the 2012 season as a breakout year. This is possible because we will be much improved and have both alabama and florida at home again with a lot to prove. A win against florida this year would really boost our confidence in later games, but i still see us losing to bama. If we are able to stay healthy this year there will be times where the full potential of 2012 will be shown and that is why i am most excited about 2011

I agree, don't think that is far fetched. I should note that I pretty much think that every year. Haha. Last year was first year I didn't think they could win east. Funny that it was easiest year to win it. Only part of OP post I don't agree with is Bray over any QB.

9-3 and will be in every game we play. The reasons - more quality depth, Coach Mac's S&C program, staff continuity and improved cohesion, expanded scemes on both sides of the ball, and easier schedule with 8 home games helps build positive mo.

We are moving back toward hard nosed, tough, smart, no excuses football players on the roster. That will help develop leadership.

Our defense isn't going to be an SEC championship d, but I think it will be improved. The biggest improvemnt on our team will be our secondary. The young guys have another season/off season under their belts, and we are bringing in a ton of help, including some juco guys that are very talented. I'm worried about our lb core, but it sucked last year too and we survived. Wilcox will come up with ways to cover that weakness now that he has a lot more to work with in the secondary...he loves using multiple db sets, which puts more speed on the field for us.. oh, and it looks like Eddrick will be here to help too..kids a bruiser

He just might, but let's not pretend that he's better than Luck right now.
From what I've seen, personally, I think Bray has a stronger arm than Luck, and that isn't the same as saying he's better overall.

I just acknowledged that I forgot about Luck staying, but beyond him, I wouldn't trade Bray for Barkley, Murray, or any QB in the country. I just hope he doesn't pull an Eric Ainge on us.

I'll tell ya,I more worried about Carolina than i am Florida this year.I also think both will be very beatable. We could end up in the champgame but we would have to fall into it like in '07.We need sc,uga and fla to beat up on each other.

Like the optimism too but I wouldn't count FLA out even though they have a coaching change; Muschamp is much better I think than Meyer ever was. Still, they have to pull their guys together too. He has more talent to work with starting off, however, I think we'll be alright; much better than last year and Bray will be one of the top QBs in the country. O-Line much improved and we can have a decent running game this year which will help a lot. I wonder anout the D; will we be better? I think so. Overall, much improved over last year. I think we take SCe this year.

What's the status of Eddrick? Haven't heard a word.

I think Muschamp will be a good coach as well but the fact remains he has never been a head coach before.I think that is a pretty big deal.
