This Team Is Blessed With Leadership

Well somebody read into my post a little toooooo much. What i'm talking about is FOOTBALL players that give their all for UT (Reivez or walk-ons that contribute).

We beat Oregon thanks to Wilcox and the defense, pair with the fact that Oregon won't have their starting QB. Ole Miss is very winnable seeing as how they lost Snead, Hodge, and McCluster, their 3 biggest offensive contributors. South Carolina is a tough win, but I think we are capable of pulling it off.

I agree. This team has the potential to make 8-4. I think 7-5 is more likely. We're gonna get UTM, UAB, Ole Miss, and Vandy for sure. We've owned Georgia in the last 5 years. I think you can tally 5 Ws right there.

We get Kentucky and Fl at home. I wouldn't be shocked to see us pull off an upset against a young Fl defense, and Kentucky should be tough, but beatable as always.

LSU and SC on the road are tough, but neither coach has been able to get their team to perform up to the talent they have.

I plan on going bowling this season.

I am calling 10 and 2 or 9 and 3.

sippin' on that kool aid...

I'm thinking 6-6, realistically, with wins over UTM, UAB, MEM, USCe, VANDY, and UK. I can see Ole Miss, UGA, and Oregon as games that we could really show up and win. Of course, we can't expect to come away with a W against USCe or UK if we don't play exceptionally well.

does being a true vol mean you have to spew positive remarks about everything. i love the people who supposedly bleed orange and think that if you are negative in any way they should revoke your "true vol" card. give me a break

you should probably relax a bit and read what the thread is actually about.

Support usually has a positive bias.

That doesn't mean it's grounded in realism though. Those calling for 8+ wins this season are going to be extremely disappointed.

Confusing speculation with realism merely provides a rationalized predisposition to fail. It may be ok for disinterested observers but it does not play into the psychology of success.

I like hearing things like this, it speaks volumes on not only the players but the coaching staff. These kids WANT to play for Dooley and I think you'll be surprised this season. I doubt it'll be as bad as others are making it out to be. Just go out and fill your stadium!

Yes, but it's going to take time. UT is a great program, but at this point, still a work in progress. There is talent, character, and leadership on this team. Just not enough of it yet. Please be patient and enjoy the ride.

While I love hearing that we have someone standing up and trying to develope an atmosphere of accountability, I would love to hear how the team is accepting the challenge. Here's to hoping they rally around each other and become as one.

I think you have way too many questions unanswered to waltz into Athens expecting to win. No matter what's happened in our previous contests. The Dawgs played so poorly in last years game i'm pretty sure they have this one circled on the calendar. I think our offense, special teams and kicking game will make this a difficult day for the volnation.

We are lucky to have guys like Reviez and Walker; guys who can provide player leadership through these train wreck years for our program.

This season depends on how quickly the O-line can come together and if they can do anything.

I wish the defense would give the offense a few of their leaders. Outside of GJ, I don't know who's going to lead this team.

Yeh, GJones, and D Moore will have to show some leadership. Possibly Stocker I guess.

You do realize that you have a freshman QB and an entirely new defensive scheme, right?

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, no matter how positive or negative it is (jjvol). There are always going to be people at the extreme ends of the spectrum. I don't think many people see us having an 8-9 win season, nor do I think many people think we're only going to win one SEC contest.

But if you're going to predict the SECCG or a winless season, at least back up your opinion with a few reasons. I'm an optimist, for sure, but I can respect a doom and gloom point of view too.

Just don't come on here being a killjoy spewing nonsense like our only gimme is UTM to open the season.
