Hello Vols, a Huskie fan here making the trip to Knoxville for the game on Saturday. I am very excited to be making another trip to an SEC campus! Our last trip to an SEC school turned out to be one of the best weekends of my life. I hope this will be more of the same even if we don't win this time.

I have a few questions for you guys.

1. I will be bringing my RV (a short bus) and I am looking for a place to tailgate. I found a couple places on your official website, but you could only tailgate for up to 4 hours before kickoff. I would like to spend the whole day tailgating if possible, or at least until an hour or two before kickoff.

2. Where close to the stadium would we be able to catch the end of our beloved Cubs NLDS game following our game? Hopefully somewhere within walking distance of the stadium.

3. Is there and Diesel shortage in Knoxville at this time?

Thanks, and we look forward to a competitive game on Saturday!

There is an RV lot on Neyland Drive, about .7 mile from the stadium. It sits on the river, next to a concrete plant I believe it is. Can't remember the name of it but if you drive down Neyland Drive you will see it. It's on the opposite side of the street from the stadium. Some buddies and I RVd to the Florida game. Cost $45 for whole wknd to park there. I would recommend that spot, as no UT pass or parking permit was required.

Calhoun's on the River is a good spot near the stadium to watch TV, but good luck on getting baseball on the tube. Usually all TVs have college football games on.

I don't think you will have any problems with Diesel in Knoxville. If you heard of gas problems in TN, they were in the Nashville area. Even then, diesel was the only gas that was available.

Man, talk about a bad time to get the Tennessee experience. Oh well, hope you have a good time anyway.

Hey guys, what is your flag / flag pole / sign policy at the stadium? Typically we'll bring in a flag and hold it up by hand at appropriate times (team intro, TD, etc), and maybe a couple poster boards. Some stadiums even allow flag poles (like Eastern Michigan where there are no fans to get injured). I highly doubt that's the case, but what do you recommend we can bring in, and what should we leave in the bus? Thanks!

Congratulations on your win over Bama, we Vol fans took great pleasure in that.

Keep bumping this thread an I'll bet some Vols will help you out on that.

Thanks for coming, prepare to be awed by the Neyland experience.

I doubt many Vol fans are taking a win for granted over NIU.

Funny thing about Minnesooooooota, I understand they had to pull off some last minute heroics to get more points on the board than your Huskies earlier this season.

(our last minute heroics this year have resembled Forest Gump checking out the guy in the wheel chair sitting on the dock of the bayou, we are hoping for improvement or should I say aching for our heros on the field to play some inspired football for a change.)

The funny thing is this, a few years ago the Golden Gophers played the Bama Tide in the Music City Bowl in Nashville and their band played Rocky Top in pregame, thinking of it sort of as the Tennessee National Anthem but that wasn't how the Bammas took it, they just heard it as the UT fight song and thought Minnesota was rubbing in the Vol win over the Tide that year, and got so upset they couldn't catch their butt with both hands and lost to Minnesota.:eek:lol:

Our Pride of the Southland Band plays Rocky Top each time we score.

Our ears thirst for more Rocky Top, and that's no joke!!

Thanks Vader! HMM, if HuskieJoe is renting a car, I think we should scope out the possible lot(s) on Friday night. That way we don't lose 2 tailgating hours driving around and ultimtely paying some vagrant top dollar for a back alley spot under a power transformer, like we did at Minnesota.

Keep on bumping, some Vol fans regularly rent parking lots and set up their tailgates together, sometimes there is extra space where visiting fans can chip in on the cost and have the extra space.

Since this isn't a big game weekend and attendance is rumored to be less than capacity by some, keep on knocking and there is a chance someone will show up here with an offer, there are other Vol boards you can check also.

I would be surprised if they let you in with a flag pole. I would think posters would be ok.

Be careful if you try to sneak a bottle in. They inspect all bags, etc., and will even pat you down. They have been strict on this lately.

Is this lot North(East) or South(West) of Neyland?
