I don't think he's chicken. His kid has got cancer or some sort of sickness and the doctors that has been treating him have been in Boise or near there. This, from what I hear, is the main reason he is staying/stayed at BSU.

I heard the offer was 4 million dollars. He makes 1.5 million at Boise and his contract thorugh 2015 I think never has him making over 2 million. He had always turned down jobs before because Petersons sons illness and his doctor was in Boise. Well, his sons specialist recently moved and is now at the UCLA Medical Center. I think it is a very possible move for him.

Petersen's kid was diagnosed with a brain tumor 12 years ago while Petersen was coaching in Oregon. Kid is fine now and is not the reason Petersen has stayed in Boise.

Check out the fact that he has a special needs son and his doctor recently transfered to the UCLA area
