SEC's Weakest 2012 Schedules
February 27, 2012 9:57 pm 84 Views 0 Comments
1. Tennessee Volunteers

What’s To Like: Missouri at home and trips to Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
Florida and Alabama come to Knoxville this year and no LSU or Arkansas on
the schedule.

What’s Not To Like: Road trips to Georgia, Mississippi State and South Carolina will provide a significant challenge. Alabama is on the schedule.

Toughest Non-Conference Opponent: The Vols take on North Carolina State in the Chick-fil-a kickoff game.

Upset Prediction: Kentucky. The season-closer against the Wildcats could go either way, but Kentucky has more talent and more depth. Expect the Wildcats to be the better team at season’s end.

Must-Win Game: Georgia. The Georgia Bulldogs figure to be the front-runners in the SEC East going into the season. A September 29th win against the Bulldogs would make the Volunteers a surprising contender in the East.

Projected Record: 5-7 (1-7) Tennessee isn’t quite back yet. They can’t take advantage of the semi-easy schedule and finish with a losing record.

The good news is you get most of your team back, the bad news is you get most of your team back. Experience is good if the players have the natural talent to get better but experience doesn't make natural talent. We'll see next year if the players are as good as some on here think they are.

So, one UF troll got another UF troll to post a non-cited bs 'article'.

Par for the course on volnation.

So... We'll finish 1-7 in the sec but if that one SEC win is Georgia we can contend for the east? Sounds simple enough......

Kentucky has more talent? Whoever wrote this must be talking about their women's rifle team.

Man oh man. Gentlemen (and ladies I guess, if you're out there), I thought I left most of the uninformed negavols over on the KNS site.

Saw this thread got pretty long so I read the whooooooooole thing just to see where we are as a fanbase (all 30 or so of us).

What started with some kid who was excited just to get an article published, regardless of its accuracy, has devolved, once again, into an argument between those who base their opinion on Dooley's past alone vs. those who have faith in the changes that have been made since the end of the season.

All I ask is that those of you who wish for Dooley's failure because you don't like him, don't call yourself UT fans. VolBeef, at this point, you sound much more like someone who wants Dooley to fail just so you can say you were right. Pathetic.

That's just dumb. There is a HUGE difference in WANTING someone to fail and THINKING someone will fail. Totally different things.

And you're not saying you THINK he will fail, you always say you KNOW he will.

HIS record and HIS past tell me he will fail. All you have is hope based on emotion. He has now been a head coach at 2 schools and at both stops he has a losing record.

Yes there is. And you have made it obvious to everyone that you WANT Dooley to fail. You are fully vested. You haven't said things like "I my opinion he will fail". You have constantly made declarations that he would fail. You have gone on to claim that anyone who disagreed with or even questioned your ironclad declarations of what WILL happen are not living in "reality".

Newsflash for you. Reality is NOT defined by what you believe will happen. In this respect, you have shown yourself to be detached from reality.

No they don't. They may give you reason to believe he will fail... but they "tell" you NOTHING until you apply reasoning and in your case bias to them.

That bias dictates to you that you consider neither the circumstances at LT or the first two years at UT in your "reasoning". You completely ignore the "reality" of the roster Dooley inherited... because that simply isn't convenient to your conclusion... a conclusion that MUST be true because your ego (emotion based conclusion) is attached to it.

All you have is hope based on emotion.
No. It simply isn't. Past success/failure is useful in determining future results but you have to consider ALL factors.

I have very reasonably... unemotionally... agreed that I do not know if Dooley can coach or not. He has not proven either way. He obviously has not had success in terms of W's. OTOH, he has not had a program strong enough roster wise or an easy schedule to get many W's.

He has now been a head coach at 2 schools and at both stops he has a losing record.

Are you really that shallow and incapable of complex reasoning? If you are then you have to be lying about graduating HS much less college.

I do not know if you are good at what you do or not. I do know that I could put you in a situation that you could not succeed in overnight... a situation where I would have to show a little patience to see if you have the ability to get it done or not. Dooley has taken on two situations like that.

Do the board a favor and show us all where I have EVER said I hoped he failed? Just one time, please! I defy you to show it because you can't. I have however said many times that I hope I'm wrong and that he succeeds.

It's pretty obvious, even without the words.

You demonstrate it constantly by making declarations then ignoring anything that suggest you could be wrong. You are vested. YOU are the one thinking with emotion... not love for the Vols but vanity. If Dooley succeeds then it isn't just your opinion that was proven wrong... it is what you have declared to be so.

You don't have to say it in so many words to demonstrate the attitude.

I'd get bored talking about the same garbage all the time. Maybe beef should start a thread about urinal cakes, just to mix things up ya know?

For some reason, your reasoning is the reason you get branded a troll. I cannot think of another reason.

By your logic.
If I were to say For instance.
I hope you get maimed in a horrible accident, that would be bad.
But if I were to say. Someone is going to hate you so much, that someday they will run you over. Then follow it up with, I hope I’m wrong. That would be ok?

Personally, it’s very apparent what the preferred outcome in either version really is. The only discernable difference is, deflection of malevolence . See, I have externalized the preference from myself in the 2nd version.

A more elementary version would be Fans don’t, Not, hate Trolls. By the use of a phrase, word, or statement, that reverses the meaning such as a double negative. It changes the meaning. So, you saying “I hope I'm wrong and that he succeeds.” That indicates you hope he fails. Because the reverse of Succeeding, is failing.

:)
Sorry I couldn't resist.

Whoever wrote this loses all credibility by stating the above. Just stupid.
