I'm not even exaggerating, but I believe UT is done for the foreseeable future. It may not be great again in my lifetime and I'm in my 40's

Every other SEC team is leaving us in the dust because we have incompetent people running the ship. We lucked up on Rick Barnes.

I took advantage of UT Football growing up and never thought I'd see Kentucky and Vandy Football look better

We are in the same boat. I have similar thoughts.

The first half is the worst 30 minutes of football I have ever seen by UT.

But what did everyone expect?

This team hasn't been coached in 5 years. Our Oline is softer than Angel's voices. Our team still has the mentality of the old coaching staff. Pruitt is a first year head coach learning in the toughest conference in the country. This isn't a conference to learn on the job. It's not his fault he was thrown into this madness and I don't blame him for taking the job. He may regret it in the end. It's been a career ender for most coaches.
This teams needs a swift kick in the ass. There is no way you can be this damn bad.
I didn't expect JP to do worse with a healthy roster than Butch did with an injury riddled one.

I think most expected that kick in the ass to have come in the off season with the coaching change.

If nothing else, I wanted a tougher, smarter team. 4 games in and they have looked as bad as anything Jones put on the field.

I expect to see players who quit tonite, players who had multiple mental errors, and players who just cannot seem to execute their assignments due to not knowing what their assignments are - well, I expect to see their A$$ sitting on the bench while players who want to play are on the field. I don't care if it's a 5th yr senior being replaced by a true freshman - starting now

Geography is the only thing that landed Barnes in Knoxville. Definitely lucked up with him.

Kinda pathetic 4 games into a season and I am thinking about basketball.

Until the players that still carry the Lyle mentality are gone we will continue to look like a Lyle coached team. Those kids are boom or bust, there was no in between when he was here and the kids still act that way.
Sadly Lyle left us worse than Dooley could’ve ever dreamed. Not only did he lose his classes heavy with “diamond in the rough” players but what makes them worse is that they were coached out of all their natural talent and forced to do things Lyles way and now they don’t any other way than the fundamentally weak style they’ve have beaten into them. It will take a couple years to unlearn all the bad coaching and just get back to their natural instincts. The. And only then can they be coached up
Great post right here!

I dont understand why the first couple of offensive series arent better scripted. That is one thing about Debord's playcalling; he always moved the ball well at the start of the game. Helton is run run pass run run pass run run pass run run pass run run pass run run oass

Before the season started I thought we made a great hire with Pruitt, however, After 4 games I am not sure Pruitt is going to work out. We have come out flat in every game this season which tells me either he can't get the players fired up or the players don't respect him. I'm hoping it's the first reason because if the players don't respect Pruitt, we are in a heap of trouble because Fulmer is not going to be able to fire Pruitt and we're fixing to go 3-9 this season.

He may regret taking the job? Why? Win or lose, He's set for life . Tennessee is known for making bad coaches rich.

Well said. We are at rock bottom. Not many coaches would accept this challenge. Pruitt has the coaching chops to get it done, but there will be growing pains and it is going to take years of slow progression. It is what it is. Folks not to be an adult.

This isnt about him. This is about us and this university. Florida hired a proven head coach and we rolled the dice again on an up and comer. It’s ******** and people ought to be fed up at this point

We had the attention of recognizable coaches but Phil Fulmer wanted to be AD.
