Not going to lie. This one hurts. I've been a Tennessee fan for a long time now. I was fan all the way through the doldrums of the Kiffin and Dooley era. When Jones came in, he brought a spark that the program needed. And those recruiting classes. What can you say. For a team where we were at, those classes were unbelievable.
Even when many doubted, I backed him. All of the patience. All of the years saying, "We are just a young team.", and, "Did you see that play! That guy is a true freshman!", and, "just wait until those guys are juniors and seniors...That is when we will come out and show the world." I believed and I persevered.
I had high hopes. But I don't know how much more my heart can take all of this let down...
Even though I am late to the party, I too am now starting question whether Butch is the guy. There was no excuse for this. This is just classic last ten years Tennessee let down. Battered vol fan syndrome isn't going away any time soon.

My first game was in '65. I've grown accustomed to this team disappointing. It's TN...it's simply what they do.

Feel like Jennings, Barnett, and Evan were the only ones out there showing any type of heart or passion. Like Dobbs has turned into a Debord product. Dull and predictable.

We're not that good. Appalachian State came within a hair of beating us, we beat georgia on a once every five years hail mary; we had good second halves against va. tech and florida--but we've been behind in practically every game.

Haha. It's funny I expected when you said "I've been a fan for a long time now" to talk about majors, fulmer, etc..but he said since the kiffin and Dooley years lol

I knew someone would say that. For what it's worth I was there for the Fulmer years. Sadly, I will admit that I missed Majors.
