These are the rushing stats against FL the last 5 yrs. We have to be somewhat effective running the football. I think somewhere around 150 to 200yds and we win the game. Dobbs has be aggressive running when giving the opportunities. It’s all about mentality this game. Take it to them. We can’t get behind the chains, and try to convert 3rd and longs.

Tennessee Rushing Yds. Att. Avg. Rushing TDs

2010: 29 23 1.3 0
2011: (-9) 21 (-0.4) 0
2012: 83 28 3.0 1
2013: 66 23 2.9 0
2014: 28 29 1.0 0
Total: 197 124 1.6 1

Best way to improve the run is to make the opponents respect the pass. Without the threat of a downfield pass there is nothing to stop teams from loading !up the box and giving the o-line too many bodies to block.

We have the running talent, that is obvious this year. We just need to pick up more than 1 or 2 yards on 1st down to make it easier for us.

We are in year 3 of a 14 year process to be beat UGA, FL, Bama, Missouri, and our OOC opponent.

The process to beat them all at least once in that time frame :) j/k... definitely need more rushing yards I agree. Also agree if Dobbernaut can stretch the field a few times in each quarter it will loosen up them Gators for a big time W! Go Vols!

One thing is for sure CBJ, DeBord, Azzanni and every Gator and Vol fan knows exactly what Florida's defensive game plan is going to be. If DeBord can't get a half decent game plan together this week it will be proof of what most of us already believe.

I honestly will love to see us put Hurd and Kamara in the backfield at the same time. That would put some real pressure on their D.

We'll be able to run it on them this year. They are thin at LB. I would bet they will be in the nickle a lot so a big back like Hurd should find some success.

They will be stacking the box from snap 1. If we fail to loosen them up with passing game, the box will remain stacked and we won't score.

If we throw five TD passes, rushing yards don't mean squat.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...

We WILL NOT throw 5 tds against UF. What have you seen this far that suggest we will throw any tds against a D like uf?
I agree with above post, box will be stacked, and Dobbs will be pressured all night.
