This May Shock You

Around here, they think extensions are all about recruiting. They still hope to fire Fulmer next year eventhough he got an extension this year as well. Do you guys at LSU actually think of extensions as some sort of employment contract?
:eek:lol: Recruiting...muppets...no real difference. We have to consider it a token simply because it hasn't been earned. At the very least Miles is playing in the National Championship game this year, and that was served up by Fulmer himself.

Miles is not my cup of tea, not because he rude (I rather like his smug side) but because he lost to two mediocre football teams with what I consider to be the most talented team in the country this year.

justin, you drew no fire on the 100 games above .500 comment.

maybe context matters. if you used that as a stat in a new thread championing how much better CPF is than mediocrity, that might get some play. here it's buried in this 'anti-Miles, yet better than Saban' talk.

Well it voids his leaving on his terms... not to say we won't fire him in a few years if his success doesn't continue... but with a 33-6 record and the SEC and Bowl accplishments he has under his tenure... he can suck for 3 years or so before he's pushed out.

Kemit has been quite since the letter...............

..........I remember that from bible school

Matthew 7

Judging Others

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

there are actually many schools of thought on this matter. I believe that what this Scripture means is that becareful when you judge someone because you will be held to the same standard. Jesus was not very fond of the hypocritcal spirit. So as long as I dont curse at women, buy hats that actually fit my head, and refrain from boorish public displays I should be ok. Also, I dont what you think I'm bragging about as far as being a minister. Outside of some guys like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, John Hagee, Max Lucado, and the like, most of us are poor. I am one of the poor. Bro', I drive a 1996 Altima with 250,000 miles on it, the hood, the trunk, and one door are all different colors. However...

Luke 6:20
Looking at his disciples, he said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God

that's all fine well and good. but unorthodox would be describing Miles' decision making throughout the season in the most forgiving fashion.

the 4th down play against auburn? i'm still not convinced he had any idea how much time was left or that it was 4th down.

the 4th down calls against FL.......gutsy, yes. admire the stones, yes. but good Lord........5 times? that speaks of the confidence he has in the talent, and rightfully so. but 5 times!!!! did the same thing in the KY and ARK games and it cost him.

i'm all for aggressiveness and playing to win. but there's a point where someone has to tap him on the shoulder and say "you sure aobut this coach?".

and congrats on beating the most mediocre Miami team in 20 years and don't try to sell us on beating ND last season. i mean, good for you guys and all, but let's face it, you were supposed to win those games.

and i agree about Saban.

Supposed to or not... is irrelevant... he's accomplished more at LSU in 3 years than Saban did in his 5. But I do agree. Eventually the risk taking will bite you... as did in the Arkansas game. But like you said... he believes in the team so much it's kinda hard to argue.

he would get 10 around here then a lifetime contract!

LSUGUY, this is the kind of stuff they really don't like about coaches here.

And, honestly, with the kind of team you guys have, surely KY and ARKY shouldn't have won unless it was Fulmer's (scratch that...) Miles' fault. Just be glad you didn't win those in overtime... you'd still have face the music here, you know?

Ah don't take me the wrong way... I've been on these forums for almost 14 years in some various compacity and many different topics of discussion. I'm not mad, angry or vengenful over what anyone says... it is the internet after all... I'm just an LSU fan that will defend our winning coach. Nothing kore nothing less...

... besides, fighting on the internet is like competing in the special olympics... even if you win you're still retarded. I'm mean no harm.

Yeah it's all in fun for the most part. I don't take the internet stuff too serious. Besides i actually enjoy coming over here for some reason. The Gator, Bama and OSU forums are rediculous at times. The atmospgere here is nice.
But damn... why don't ya'll come over to MY damn board soemtime and let me be on friendly territory. LMMFAO.

what does it say to the rest of us that MBA has found an ally in a LSU troll

Do you think Les is to aggresive or about right?

If there is an LSU fan out there that didn't question Miles' personnel and play calling decisions toward the end of either one of those ball games I challenge you to find them for me. Incidentally I get 870 am out of LA and listened to the show after the Arkansas game, so you better come strong!

I disagree, by saying that you discount that Saban rebuilt the program. All Miles has done is sustain the momentum.

When the exegesis starts I am outta here!

Aggressive? At times yes. I do think there's times when it's better to concede a possession and play field position... but then again at times our D has sucked and the position didn't matter cuz we let them march down the damn field. I also think in a lot of circumstsnces 4th and 1 needs to be gone for... but maybe change the package and instead of giving the ball to Hester every time... line up 2 backs and let Scott block for Williams. I have at times questioned why Williams or Scott hasn't recieved more carries... but i'm not the coach.
