But my sense in watching your game yesterday is that if Florida and Tennessee played again, now, the outcome is very much in doubt. With just one or two exceptions, I thought that your defense played an outstanding game. Complete night and day between September 15 and December 1.

I know people are down on Ainge for the two picks. The first one I admit was bad -- kind of floated it out there as he was backing up. The second might have been him just trying to do too much in a short field with a lot of traffic in it and knowing that you needed a TD to tie for overtime.

Overall, I was very impressed with UT in this game and with your youth in a few key spots starting to show some moxy, I am officially thinking that our game with you next year is going to be a thriller.

As to yesterday, bottom line is that it might simply have been LSU's turn to win a close one. They lost their two games in triple overtime and maybe they just were destined to pull one out. Nothing you can do about it now. Its wait and see on the bowls, right?

Good game yesterday and I mean that.

I think its going to be Michigan. But since Miles is evidently not taking that job, word has it that Lou Holtz is going to come in and be their H/C just for that game.

Kidding, of course.

No, both of them were pretty bad and ill advised.

I'll 2nd that. All but Bama. :p

In my mind, its simply a matter of maintaining the impression that the SEC is best. You don't think that perception matters? Look at last year and Florida getting into the NT. Look at this year. Don't you think that Florida's performance last year in the NT game has a little something to do with LSU probably getting the nod over Oklahoma?

I for one believe that the SEC is the best conference, top to bottom, and over a long period of time. The fact that the fans are so rabid has an effect on that and so we have to be absurdly proud of our conference all the time (when outside the conference) just for our own purposes. You never know whan that little bit of political clout is going to help your own team.

I am ready for the SEC (represented by LSU) to once again squash the Big 10 notion that the SEC is not consistently superior to any other conference in CFB. The Buckeyes are one of the biggest annual frauds in football. If LSU becomes anything close to healthy again in the next month, OSU will suffer a fate at least as bad as in last year's title game. Go SEC!

As an aside, I will be just a smidgen gratified watching that game, knowing that LSU did not beat Tennessee in the SECCG...Tennessee beat Tennessee. I think that's almost a matter of fact.

Very classy post LG. I firmly believe that both Florida and Tennessee would beat the Dawgs if they played today. Tennessee will be better next year, our qb situation will not be the question mark everyone thinks it will be. Unfortunately for us, Florida will be better also, at least we get to play you in Knoxville next year. I believe over the next decade the SEC EAST will be extremely competitive between Florida,Tennessee, and Georgia each year with Florida winning it a little more than everyone else. This is if we are able to pull ourselves off the recruiting matt we are on so far this recruiting season.
