LOL at feeling bad for Janzen. Now if there are family issues etc going on I feel bad for him for that but that doesn't change the fact that he has been in trouble ever since he got here. Not to mention the fact that he got in trouble for smoking weed in his dorm room recently, not real bright if you ask me.

And I may get banned, but some of y'all need to reevaluate yourselves with regards to some of the things you say about kids. Most of you aren't even bothering to read what little factual info we've got to this point:

JJ didn't "quit the team." He's taking time off to deal with personal issues that are none of our business. Maybe he makes it back, maybe he doesn't, but there ARE things in life besides football.

PS I started this as a new thread because it's not so much about JJ leaving as it is about hoping some of y'all read it and think about what you say and post.

Why is it none of our business? this is the second time he has pulled that. I'm not sure if he will be back, or if I want him back, Dam good player, but not the only kid that can play Ball. I think he owes the team, the coaches, and every fan that fills that stadium, as well as the ones that watch on TV.

I'm just saying the term "Kid" is crap, i'm not much older than 20 and I own a house, 2 cars, have 2 kids and a wife...Did it without 1 dime from my parents.

As you can see, I didn't bash JJ..I don't know enough to have an opinon...I would like to know since he plays for the football team that I donate money to every year...Again this is a board about UT football, he is/was a UT football player..We are going to be curious.

My whole beef with this thread is it's more of a "Look at me, I have morals" thing than a "I'm really concerned about JJ" thing, this could have been posted on the other thread about JJ.

I'm young with two kids, a wonderful wife, two companies and it was all done on my own. That doesn't give me the right to be rude or act like it's stupid to care for someone. Too be honest I wouldn't have the life I have if I were rude, self centered, and overall negative. Tride that when I was Janzen's age and it got me nowhere fast.

People that stand up for others are the ones that usually want to change the world for the better (nothing wrong with that). The Internet has given the rude and angry a box to hide behind.

Feel bad for the kid, but this is a football board. The D-backfield just took a big hit, anyway you look at it. Hope he gets things worked out and is back for the Fall.

The problem with this moral high ground is that the only reason the OP knows of Janzen, and the only reason he feels obligated to inform us that we should feel sorry for him, is b/c Janzen played FOOTBALL for UT. You are right in stating that things are more important than football, but with that said, the only reason we know of Janzen's story is b/c of football.

Go look at amnesty international or save darfur websites if you want to be in a setting where morals and sympathy are commonplace. As for here, a UT football message board, don't come on here and tell us there are things more important than football and then tell us how we should react when a FOOTBALL player, who otherwise would be anonymous to us all, withdraws from the university. The simply fact that you feel obligated to "start a new thread" detailing how we should act about this indicates that maybe you need to realize that there are things more important than football. Especially when the majority of posts have focused on the implications his withdrawal will have on our football team.

Caring people are going to be the same person no matter where they are and I guess the same goes for those who care for themselves only.

If the story I heard is true, then he has done nothing wrong. He has a family member needing help and he is taking care of his family. That is being a mature man. I repect a young man that puts others first even if he has to possibilly sacrifice his own future.People of character and responsibility have historically made those tough choices.I personally choose to give JJ the benefit of a doubt.I believe that JJ comes back from this as better player with the focus of a mature adult.

So the OP cared so much about Jackson's privacy that he started a new thread on a public message board describing how we should react to Jackson's privacy... Caring people can be confusing.

I'm with the OP. Putting Jackson aside (most everyone would agree it's best if he's back, since he's awesome), the guy who's getting killed is Art Evans. Kid's doing his best for the Vols, and people are complaining that he's back on the team. Ridiculous.

I'm not trying to be moral police, and I'm not saying don't talk about it. But maybe at very least find out a fact or two before making a hateful statement, that's all.
If its none of our business why concern ourselves with facts?

Ban? You were the kid in 1st grade who was afraid of getting called to the principal's office for sneaking in that extra scoop of mashed potatoes weren't you?

how do you know kids worry about these things....unless you were that kid?

Well this a football board, he IS a Vol, this is a Vol football board, we are going to talk about it, because it's a Vol football related topic.

We don't need "Morals" police around here, so save it.

True but, LEARN the FACTS before one posts:good!:

No, its called a man asking for others to give alittle respect. If you don't get it then you never will.

God, I should've known better than attempt to appeal to human decency on a message board.

I was mainly talking about the people who say things like "he's a ****ing loser" or "what a stupid piece of ****", and if you haven't seen any of that I guess you're illiterate.

I don't see anything wrong with talking about how it affects the two-deep, or wondering if he'll be back or not, etc

Another irritating thing is the posts that get put up without people having read ANYthing that was put out by the media. I don't want to get on here and read crap that's just wrong based on what we know.
