This loss will be 100% on the staff

:birgits_giggle:

CBJ is only marginally better than Dooley at this point?

Can't judge this right now - too early.

1. Dooley's first recruiting class was better that CBJ's first class.
2. CBJ's second class looks like it will be a lot better than Dooley's second class.
3. Can't tell who is better as far as in game coaching aspects so far - Dooley had 2 good games vs good teams in his first year (LSU and NC), and Butch had UGA and SCjr. All else were blowout losses.
So pretty similar so far.

1. Big differences between the 2. Jones was hired in December, NSD is in February. Jones really didn't have enough time to sign a great class. He had to scramble to get the best players he could. Trying to get recruits that Dooley ignored was difficult.
2. Butch's second class might wind up being one of the best in school history.
3. Butch is light years ahead of Dooley. Look at last year. We had a great offense and still lost to Georgia, SC, Mizzou and Vandy. All games we should have won, the reason we didn't is because we got out coached badly.

Also Butch has had to deal with the toughest schedule in school history, no experienced WRs and a lot of young players. Butch didn't have Rogers, Moore, Jones and Hunter.

It's pretty sad that you cannot see the huge improvement Butch is already over Dooley. But that seems to be the state of our fan base. Because we are the first team in 20 years to play 7 ranked teams straight and because we have lost badly to the #1, 2, 8, and 9th teams in the country, Butch is somehow in Dooleys league.

You have to be a real hard head if you can't even grudgingly admit that what Butch Jones has done is not significantly better than what Dooley did in any one of his seasons here.

Even if you will not concede that we are on our 3rd QB and start or give significant playing time to an inordinate amount of true freshman and walk ons, (which in and of itself is scarey when you are playing a schedule like Tennessee is) and you blame CBJ and his staff for the current win loss record. He's still better.

Even if you will not concede to the fact that this group of seniors that are relied on for leadership have been through coaching changes, scheme changes, technique changes and mental philosophy changes and you blame CBJ and his staff for the current win loss record. He's still better.

Even if you will not concede that Tennessee suffers from a legitimate lack of depth issue and while they have talented players sprinkled throughout their line up, not having the luxury to rotate in and shore up positions on special teams really hurts them and you lay the blame directly at the feet of CBJ and his staff for the current win loss record. He's still better.

He's better because he's hell bent on being a real caretaker for what Tennessee is and has to offer. I believe him when he speaks about how much this program means and the amazing facilities and tradition that this program offers. He is selling that to recruits across the county. More importantly he is rebuilding a relationship with Tennessee HS football coaches. Not since Fulmer has a Coach used pride in the program and in state talent as such a fundamental building block.

He's better because he is focused on academics. Recruiting classes that don't fall apart are made up of solid student athletes. Not Bryce Brown 5 star flame outs.

He's better because he has branched out and brought in so many former players and coaches to put an emphasis on his point of relationships, pride and building on the tradition. He's not just saying BS, I mean he is working his ass off to rebuild this program. I respect that. I'd say this 2014 class of so many legacy commits respect that as well.

So yea, Maybe his record is his record. Let's not be sunshine fist pumpers. Let's nash our teeth over the blowouts to top 10 teams. But let's not get redonkulous, he's no Dooley or Kiffin.

If I was such a whiney crybaby like you I'd never talk or post in public my friend.

If I was as WRONG as you are so consistently I'd never say anything.

The ONLY thing I get from your crybaby rants is that you must be a TROLL like so MANY others on here really ARE!

FACT...Bray was NOT great as a freshman but he did get knowledge and experience along with DaRick Rogers and Justin Hunter and 4 of our current O linemen that were all FRESHMEN at the time.

The next year they were all Sophs annd they DID get even better and our O started to get feared and then our TE's started to get better too.

Then last season they were ALL Juniors but DaRick the moron was gone but along comes CP from the JUCO ranks and he's a 1 year superstar because he had Bray, Hunter, our other Rogers came on finally as a Senior and most of our O line were all Juniors and our TE's got even better too and suddenly our O was a BEAST and could put points up against almost any team in the country but that was AFTER a solid 3 YEARS together as a O getting real game knowledge and EXPERIENCE!

Now you expect a Freshman QB and Freshmen WR's and a couple of Sophs to function like Bray and his group did after 32 YEARS of working together???

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Stop drinking my friend because reality has left you spewing nothing that's the least bit logical pon how college football works at all.

Take all your TROLL friends with mostly low p[ost counts and GO AWAY and go cheer for your floriDUHHH team that's also getting curb stomped even with top recruitimng classes for the last 10 years!!!

You TROLLS willo never fool me like you fool so many on here because I watch all of you closely and your low post couynts also give most of you away.

GET OFF OUR UT BOARD TROLL!!!!!

Reall game knowledge and experiuence along with top SEC talent all over the field and starter talent on the 2 deep roster IS what it will take to get OUR footVol team back on the top!

bUTch knows this and has a top 2 ranked recruiting class coming in and THAT is just the beginning of a 100% total rebuilding job of OUR Vols football team and in 4 years he WILL be kicking the crap out of your little team.

Now run along little boy and go FEAR our Tennessee Vols because we ARE on the road back up to the top and we're doing it #BrickbyBrick even if you and your TROLL friends can't stand it!

There sure are alot of SCARED to death nega-TROLLS on our Tennessee site these days!

LMAO @ they can't coach.

They damn sure can recruit!!!

BEWARE...Tennessee is on the way back and will #Rise to the TOP!!!

Crybaby whiners are sad and pathetic!

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

I read your post and the one you responded to. It is nothing more than personal, repeated ad-hominem attacks with a few Butchisms thrown in for good measure.

They're taking Butch's Brick and smashing us over the head with it!

Dooley had no luck. Jones has had a little bit of luck. Besides, that, I see no difference.

Butch is a great snake-oil salesman, while DD was anti-social.

Talkin' a good game isn't the same as performing on the field.

Yeah I'm venting! So what?!

This looks like a troll. A real UT fan would have at least mentioned Lame Kiffin and whats worse 10 people lke it:huh:

You need to check your facts before you post nonsense.
Dooley was hired in middle of January so had even less time than Butch but definitely had a much better first class (Hunter, D Rogers).
Also, Dooley almost beat UGA and SC on the road last year (and UGA was a lot better last year - almost beat Bama in SEC championship game). As far as Mizzou, we should have beat them last year as well as this year. But at least last year we did not score 3 points against them and get blown out. You are right about one thing - we had a lot better offense last year (players AND offensive coaching staff). You are also right that this upcoming class could be the best in school history.

Derek Dooley named Tennessee Volunteers head coach - ESPN

Lets make a list of why we got blown out today
1. Dooleys fault
2. Kiffins fault
3. Fans fault being critical of your teams play detours top level recruits from coming here because Tennessee is the only fan base in the world critical of its coaching staff.
4. Fulmers fault
5. Fans fault for not supporting a team that continues to quit
6. Freaks fault for taking away women of auburn thread
7. Hamiltons fault

I have a friend who is a UGA fan and he can't stand Mike Bobo lol

This game makes me the most nervous of all games this year. This game is the the first game that we are not either expected to loose big or expected to win big. Every game we have played most people knew the outcome of the game. With the exception of USCe they have gone as planned. BUT…this game will be close and it can go either way depending on how our COACHING is against Frankin and company. I am VERY nervous because it will come down to coaching with penalties and turnovers. If Tennessee looses then it WILL be on the coaching staff. I will still be on board with CBJ but it will be EXTREMELY fragile. It will blow all theories of him coaching after a bye week, making adjustments and making progress throughout the year. Will be VERY HARD to watch this one.

Jones and his staff can't outcoach Franklin and his staff. I think the rosters are even. SO hope it doesn't come down to situational football.

You're right. It's not like they've done it before or anything...

All i have heard this year from the Vol beat writers and those running GoVols247 are that Jones is the real deal and he can make the changes at halftime and if he had a "equal" talent he would out coach MOST in the SEC, so if he looses this then that is all out the window that is why if Franklin can out coach us…what does that say about us??? If Franklin had EQUAL talent would he be 10-2 and 6-2 in the SEC and playing in the SEC title game???

For the love of all that is holy.....this is failure. We all got dumber when we got to the "can't tell whose better part."
