This loss was on a couple Heupel decisions

It's fairly easy to know this. Either 2026 or 2027. The 9 game schedule is very easy to predict.

Year 1: 3 permanent opponents. Half the SEC
Year 2: 3 permanent opponents. Other half of SEC
Year: 3 permanent opponents . Half of SEC but home and away reversed from year 1
Year 4: 3 permanent opponents. Other half of SEC but home and away reversed from year 2
Thanks for validating my point. We will not be playing them regularly.... Likely the 28 season in the 9 game expanded era.

We will play them every other year instead...oh the horror. Geez you guys are so damn dramatic. It's not like it has been where we don't see a west team for over half a decade after we play them.

I doubt we get lucky enough that ga isn't on our schedule. Hell we play bama and little ut next year. But I also dont understand this whole best chance to win is this year premise. If you really think about it every year that we get farther into nil we have a better and better chance to catch/beat these other programs.

We have the better leadership at this point.
We are spending more in nil getting bigger apparel deals and year over year our coach is evolving his offense. If you dont believe me I highly recommend going and watching some film study on the differences of the wr route trees that are happening this year that never happened before.

I agree. I also think that there is a vacancy forming in the top of the league. Bama is clearly downtrending. Texas/Sark is all smoke and mirrors. Has Brian Kelly finally turned the corner?

As long as Kirby is at Georgia, he will run the league. But Tennessee has one of the biggest recruiting budgets in the nation and I'm sure a part of that is NIL. I think once the one portal period is set by the NCAA and takes effect, that will only help things.

That is not the case.

There will be a 2 season gap in between non permanent opponents after the home/home's happen. This notion that a non permanent opponent will be every other year is dumb. #Math

Will we play ga about every 6 years now?

You either want excellence and championships or you don’t. Hype wants championships, therefore, we have and should raise our standard and expectation above the Gator Bowl.

If it’s what the head man preaches and expects, it should be the same for us.
We have raised our expectations/preparations. Thats why we went to the playoffs with a qb that couldn't complete a 25yd pass.

It's also why if we get healthy and dont carry this loss to MsSt I truly think we will end up back in the playoffs..

All that has nothing to do with all these "fans" saying heup isn't a sec coach or our top 5 defensive coordinator should be fired. Because our defense struggles when we play top 5 teams.......... What? Everybody struggles when they play top 5-top-10 teams. This isn't the 90's with 3 downs and a cloud of dust.

Idk i just dont understand how people cant look at the all inclusive over-all data and realize that we cant be much better off than we are now.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Georgia will be off our schedule for 2 seasons before they come back on our schedule. Just like every other non permanent conference opponent.

So would it be every years?

I see math is hard for you. There are 16 teams in the SEC. exclude your own now there is 15. There are 9 conference games. 3 of them will be permanent games every year. That brings you down to 6 games for 12 teams...12 divided by 6 is 2. We will play every SEC team every two years. Every 4 years we as fans will have the opportunity to experience every SEC stadium. We aren't going to have extended droughts where we don't play a team. Stop being overly dramatic.

No they won't. We will play them every other year.

Example:

Year 1
Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt (for sake of argument)
Georgia
South Carolina
Auburn
Lsu
Tamu
Ole miss

Year 2
Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt
Mizzou
Florida
Miss St
Texas
Oklahoma
Arkansas

Year 3 reverse year 1s home and away
Year 4 reverse year 2s home and away

Seems to me like defense couldn’t make 2 key stops, and scared Max shanked

This should have been a W

At least our team looks to be good on both sides of the ball

He coached scared on multiple occasions. You can’t be a chickenshít against Kirby Smart. The punt at midfield that they drove the field on, and especially the decision not to center the ball on the field goal at the end were scared decisions, and you cannot coach scared against teams like that. There were other issues in the game, but the head coach’s in game decisions cannot be an issue if you are going to beat a powerhouse.
Can’t disagree more. Players were put into position to go win and had chances on multiple occasions. Another false start or fumbled snap and you would have been complaining why we didn’t go ahead and kick it. Relax, we get healthy and will be fine.

My one question is this:

Why, when you have 7 seconds and even ONE timeout (let alone 3), do you not just run one more offensive play to spot your kicker even one more yard or, at the very least, a better position from which to kick?

Do the chances of fumbling really outweigh the benefits there?

The SEC. Team really doesn't matter.

I agree though, ESPECIALLY against Kirby.

I think Josh sensed the kicker potentially getting iced and wanted to get on with it. Probably more scared of another false start than a fumble.

I understand why we didn’t throw that last drive; can’t take a sack, hold, or throw an interception. I have no problem with the clock management there either. Just gotta make that kick.

Previous drive we should’ve been more aggressive

Actually the SEC hasn't set that in stone yet....one of the options is play your 3 opponents and the other 6 shift EVERY season...

possible UT example:

2026
Alabama
at Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Ole Miss
at Auburn
Texas
at LSU
Florida
at South Carolina

2027
at Alabama
Vanderbilt
at Kentucky
Mississippi State
at Oklahoma
at Georgia
Missouri
at Arkansas
Texas A&M

2028
Alabama
at Vanderbilt
Kentucky
at Ole Miss
Auburn
at Texas
LSU
at Florida
South Carolina

and so on...

And yours is just as dumb. The players didn’t execute. They didn’t make tackles when they needed to.
I mean, why are we trying to figure out who to blame. It's just breeding negativity after a loss that EVERYONE said was going to be a loss anyways. In regards to the tackling, most of that can be pointed to inexperienced players going up against upperclassmen for the first time.
