This loss was on a couple Heupel decisions

He coached scared on multiple occasions. You can’t be a chickenshít against Kirby Smart. The punt at midfield that they drove the field on, and especially the decision not to center the ball on the field goal at the end were scared decisions, and you cannot coach scared against teams like that. There were other issues in the game, but the head coach’s in game decisions cannot be an issue if you are going to beat a powerhouse.
Tell you who I blame for the loss… the fans who went practically silent to begin the 3rd quarter as Georgia took half the quarter off the clock, the fans made no impact on that drive, far to quiet…

No but Heupel originally wanting to center the ball before the false start is a pretty good indicator that I’m right. Also the fact that people aren’t tripping over themselves to tell me I’m an awful human being despite the fact I criticized a Tennessee coach is a pretty good sign that I could be barking up the right tree.

Heupel snapping ball to move toward center of field. Also, third down gives you another chance if bad snap. Good Coaching

There are lots of things in the game you can point too. When you’re talking about flags thrown or not thrown, they all play an apart. That pass interference call against us in the final two minutes was the nail in the coffin though. As soon as it happened I knew in that moment this one wasn’t going our way….

Explain why Heupel tried to center the ball before the false start, if I’m so wrong.
Im just so sick of you non football understanding people. He tried to run a play on 3rd to get more yards the same way he did the past 2 downs. He could feel his team getting antsy after the random false start and said screw it, I know max is good from here. Heupel and staff out coached ga the first and the 4th. Heupal &CO won that game. He just missed the field goal. A field goal he's made 20 times..... It sucks but IT HAPPENS.
TN WON THIS GAME. If we get healthy and stay mentally prepared for each week, Bare minimum make it as far as last year. Even though I know thats not good enough for you..

Truth. In may after the Nico drama, if you would have told someone Joey Aguliar would have us in position to beat UGA and it would have been an overtime loss after a missed field goal (that Gilbert went out and drained in overtime) rational fans would have been pleasantly surprised.

Heupel needs to evaluate his training and conditioning staff with so many injuries EVERY year. What good is talent if you can not get it on the field.
Players get hurt. Some of the best players to ever play the game of football, or basketball. Were never the greatest because their bodies couldn't hold up to their "greatness".

I just dont understand where yall get disconnected. TENNESSEE won this game they just missed the FG.

If you dont think TN won this game then you dont think we ever beat Alabama.... Same general game but we hit the FG as time expired.

Gilbert likes the ball on the left hash mark. That is where it was.
On the false start play when Aguilar was going to run for positioning, he was running behind the right guard to get to the middle of the hashes.

The stupidity of Heupel in that moment was panicking and settling for the field goal when he had more than enough time and 2 downs to get the 5 yards back, set up in the middle of the hashes, and kick the field goal.

Im a looking time lurker way longer than this profile... I just cant understand the whining and complaining. Like do yall not remember the past 20 years??? We are the best football team than we have been since 98-99? We went to the playoffs last year and all I see is the negativity of the fact we lost.... Like holy hell, so what. Its better than the damn gator bowl isn't it?

You either want excellence and championships or you don’t. Hype wants championships, therefore, we have and should raise our standard and expectation above the Gator Bowl.

If it’s what the head man preaches and expects, it should be the same for us.

Our guys played a darn good football game against a darn good football team. Joey missed on a couple throws and uga made a couple of clutch plays. We have no depth in the interior d-line and it showed. I think a fully healthy Tennessee beats uga by 20 today.
Exactly how I see it.
We BEAT ga today/yesterday. The near exact same way we beat bama 22. Our really good kicker just didn't make the kick.
After that, sure we shif the bed. But who's to say if we didnt miss the kick on bama we wouldn't have done the same...

They're kids, and they're human. And that same feeling of **** we just lost that we as fans feel they felt too.

And a loss to the best team in the SEC in overtime isn't going to exclude us from said championship opportunities. Gilbert choked. The moment was too big for him. Acting like the coaches are just terrible is dumb. If he makes that, there would be no second guessing huepel. Huepel knows a hell of a lot more about ball than I ever will. Let's worry about UAB

The issue with this loss, while not a big deal in the grand scheme of the playoff context, is that it will be the last time for a while to end the streak vs UGA. They are very likely not going to be the permanent opponent on our schedule so who knows the next time we play them in the regular season.

It's fairly easy to know this. Either 2026 or 2027. The 9 game schedule is very easy to predict.

Year 1: 3 permanent opponents. Half the SEC
Year 2: 3 permanent opponents. Other half of SEC
Year: 3 permanent opponents . Half of SEC but home and away reversed from year 1
Year 4: 3 permanent opponents. Other half of SEC but home and away reversed from year 2

We went head to head for 4 quarters and OT with what is arguably the best team in the SEC. In a game that 90% of Vol fans admitted 24 hours ago we weren't likely to win.

The chicken littles on here are ridiculous. Even Bama and UGA will lose 1 or 2 games a season. Especially with this new format.

I doubt we get lucky enough that ga isn't on our schedule. Hell we play bama and little ut next year. But I also dont understand this whole best chance to win is this year premise. If you really think about it every year that we get farther into nil we have a better and better chance to catch/beat these other programs.

We have the better leadership at this point.
We are spending more in nil getting bigger apparel deals and year over year our coach is evolving his offense. If you dont believe me I highly recommend going and watching some film study on the differences of the wr route trees that are happening this year that never happened before.
