This loss was on a couple Heupel decisions

It didn’t ruin the idea. He could have done it again. We had seven seconds left with timeouts. He could have done it one more time. He was scared that his team would false start twice in a row, and he chose the fearful decision.
I agree with you, but I also see it the other way. He false starts again and volnation would be blowing up on why we didn't kick it and now he has a 53 yard kick.

While you are spreading around blame, I hear people in the stands weren’t cheering. So, maybe start there. Lol

I thought you would reference the decision for three straight conservative runs after the recovered fumble.

That was the game. Everyone in the stadium knew that Georgia would drive down to tie the game. We’ve seen this play out before. You go for it all there and if you don’t get it you kick the FG. A touchdown would’ve salted this one away. Joey would’ve been kneeling at the 50 in victory formation after Georgia’s failed onside kick.

Yep 100% i said when we ran up middle 3 times after turnover this game is over. Knew then. You dont win those types of games by playing not to lose
Well the first two runs are fine, we were kind of forced to run the ball on 3rd down because you can't take a chance on getting sacked and getting knocked out of field goal range there. The titans did that last week after recovering a fumble on the 25 yard line and ended with zero points.

Obviously i would've preferred getting 7 points there, but we had to get points regardless.

If we were watching MTSU on TN Tech, i'd agree on centering the ball. This is the SEC though. And it was obvious he was missing that kick no matter where it was on the field.
That’s why I would have called a time out. He was preparing for a 5 yard shorter FG and boom, all the sudden it’s 5 yards longer. He was already feeling the pressure and needed a few minutes to recalibrate the distance in his mind.

I felt there were 2 key plays that lost us the game—the 3rd down run after the fumble and then NOT running 1 more play with :07 seconds left to try and center the kick some more. Those 2 plays I believe were critical in the outcome.

Our guys played a darn good football game against a darn good football team. Joey missed on a couple throws and uga made a couple of clutch plays. We have no depth in the interior d-line and it showed. I think a fully healthy Tennessee beats uga by 20 today.

He coached scared on multiple occasions. You can’t be a chickenshít against Kirby Smart. The punt at midfield that they drove the field on, and especially the decision not to center the ball on the field goal at the end were scared decisions, and you cannot coach scared against teams like that. There were other issues in the game, but the head coach’s in game decisions cannot be an issue if you are going to beat a powerhouse.

I put it on not centering the ball (or the right hash, where the kicker apparently preferred), and heaving it down the field for that first interception. Both were bad calls, and poorly executed to boot.

That first interception probably didn’t make a huge difference. I don’t think we were driving the ball on them in that spot in any case really.

Tim banks leaving Redmond on an island was an issue. Other than that I thought it was pretty good game play calling wise on both offense and defense.

We get McCoy back and Moi, defense will improve.
We didn't sit back in a zone all game and let them pick us apart so I liked the defensive game plan.

We had a kick for the win as time was running out.
Kickers miss. It happens.

Heupel got way too conservative near the end with a small lead.

After the strip sack at around the 35 yard line, Heupel essentially settled for a long FG attempt rushing the ball 3 times in a row while only being up by 5. We needed a 2 score lead.

On our last drive before OT, we should have kept pushing down the field instead of burning clock and playing the hash position with all 3 timeouts.
